This is my second..lost the one I used for about 5 yrs+ during a move. That timer worked fine the entire time. This new one I ordered doesn't sound the bell when time is up.
You can hear the bell jingle when I move it from area to area..just doesn't ring when time is up.
Cute in looks..not much of a reminder with no bell tho

Works as advertised. Just remember, as others have suggested, to crank it all the way around, then turn it back to the number of minutes you actually need. This is very common in most kitchen timers, it's not a design flaw in this particular model.
I will say, however, that it's not terribly loud. I can hear it OK, but not if it's in the other room and I'm watching TV or listening to music.
It's a good idea to place it in the room you're going to be in most of the time.
