A true head-scratcher from a legendary brand

I love the Royce products that I own, quae sunt, a burgundy-colored padfolio and black/red wallet; bizarrely, I am still scratching my head with respect to this specific product. The construction of it, and how it operates, is so bizarre and counter-intuitive that I have neither the time nor desire to explain it any further. I unequivocally hated it, and returned it within hours of its arrival. I believe this to be a true anomaly, and would love to hear some honest feedback from Royce as their (1) manufacturing logic; (2) price justification; and (3) as to whether the R&D team for this specific product are still employed at Royce in the same capacity; therefore, I implore anyone connected to, and/or employed by Royce not contractually bound via a non-disclosure agreement or anything to that effect, to contact me at my personal email address, i.e., [email protected]. I would very much appreciate any information stated herein to edify and aliviate my confusion pertaining only to this product. I thank you for reading my review.

The leather is top quality and it looks very classy and professional. The price was unbeatable at $89 compared to average price of $200+.

I purchased this for a female friend of mine. She had mentioned before how most padfolios out there looks cheap and/or too "manly".
I was browsing around & came across this. It looks great for both men & women to carry around. I actually thought it was a mis-priced item because a product of this quality is usually above $200.
I ordered one for my friend, & she loved it. She told me that she gets many compliments on it, & she feels like a true professional using it everyday. It keeps her extremely organized. To quote her, "Yay for no more loose pages all over the place".
I suppose it's safe to say that it was a great gift that my friend enjoys very much. I'll definitely be purchasing more Royce products in the near future for personal & gifting needs.

This padfolio is a major disappointment in functionality. As other reviewers have mentioned, the filing system fails to have webbing. It provides only dividers, offering no secure storage of documents. Also disappointing is that the location for a legal pad offers no way of securing the pad. There's no slit to slide the back of the pad into place. Therefore, one's legal pad and documents are free to fall out upon opening. If both of the above problems were addressed with proper construction/planning, the zippered closure would not be a cumbersome necessity. When I purchased this item, I was aware of the zippered closure. I thought I could be happy with it if the padfolio offered a secure expandable filing system. I assumed that other features, such as a secured slot for a legal pad, would be an obvious feature that would be included. For example, I typically assume, when buying shoes online (as pictured from above), that the shoe would have a sole. It seems obvious that a shoe-maker would try to place something between your feet and the pavement. That would make sense. This padfolio is expensive and it doesn't make sense. If it had been a good product, I was going to buy 7 for some of my associates.
