These tongs are definitely smaller than I was picturing, but they do their job well. My wife was really excited for these tongs and immediately started using them. They've been especially helpful for serving food, but we've used them during cooking as well.
The material feels like silicone, but I would recommend for safety to keep them away from hot sources only bringing them in contact with hot food for small periods of time.
