The craftsmanship is very good and the art is tasteful. It is very solid on a desk or home altar, and the cross can be removed from the base should you want to for some reason (like you find yourself in extremis). A cross for the desk where one studies or prays is an excellent memento, and more "present" than a wall crucifix under many circumstances. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I purchased this product to put on my nightstand and be used as a devotional image. The corpus is well crafted, the details and the proportions are well made. The item looks just as described. However, I know that it is not too popular to depict Christ with all the wounds and the blood that depict the true horror of the crucifixion, but I modified the image by painting the wounds and the blood following the image of the "Christ of the Holy Shroud" (Cristo Sindónico) by Spanish artist Juan Manuel Miñarro. Now it looks even more perfect than it was when I purchased it.

Beautiful crucifix. The crucifix fits into the base to set on a table or there is a hook on the back of just the crucifix to hang on the wall.
