I like the whole concept of having bacon in a can for long term storage so when you run out of fresh stuff it is there to enjoy. The pieces are thinly sliced and the flavor is not as strong as fresh bacon and lacks salt and smokey flavoring, on a scale from 1-10 it is 6 good enough to enjoy in the woods camping or back packing or at home when you don't want to go to the store.

Right out of the can mine was slightly crispy a little greasy but it is bacon! I re-heated some in the frying pan and it crisped right up. This would not be my go-to bacon for every day eating it is to expensive at $21.20 a can. If it was a time of disaster and you had a couple cans of this to eat and no fresh bacon you would be happy.

i have read a lot of reviews on this but had to try it and i have to say they where all right the bacon tasted great i heated mine up in the microwave for a few seconds but it was good right out the can to i would highly recommend this to any one who likes bacon it is really good there are roughly around 50 very thin pieces of bacon it is thinner than i thought it would be but great as a snack or as a meal with some chips my can lasted about 48 hours between me and one other person who loves bacon so buy more than one can if you like bacon it goes fast.

We love this while living overseas. Makes up for us not having bacon in some countries where you can't find pork. Very good.

I love this canned bacon! It is great for camping and emergencies. I keep 2 cans in the cupboard as well as other canned goods. Bisquick, powdered eggs. canned butter, canned ham, evaporated milk, bottled water all make sure I won't go hungry in the event of a disaster. I use all of these items on a regular basis so I can't attest to shelf life. I always keep cherry pie filling as well, great on top of freshly baked bisquits. Add a few slices of bacon for a great breakfast.

Our can had just over six tablespoons of rendered fat inside. It was pretty easy to scoop out. We were surprised though at the amount of fat. However, the actual meat was very, very lean. It was nice to be able to season the meat to our taste. We used the meat in a simple soup, i.e. Minute rice, beef broth, a drained can of mixed vegetables, a little salt and some pepper, and it was very good. Overall, despite the amount of rendered fat in the can, we do recommend this product.
