Cable is exactly as described, good quality, fast shipping, no directions so do your home work it will work. I have a HP 4000 LaserJet printer that I will not give up, has worked perfect for 14 years gets 5000+ copies per cartridge, I purchased a new computer and no parallel port only USB so I got this cable, after some time I got it to work.
This parallel adapter does not install as an LPT port ...

This parallel adapter does not install as an LPT port on the computer. Software that is designed to communicate with an LPT port can not communicate with this adapter.

Sometimes you just have to connect older hardware to a newer computer that dose not have serial ports. This product connected and configured very easy.
