You will Never Go Back To The Plastic Junk Gas Cans
STG✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 18, 2018
This is a really perfect gas can for my 2 stroke lawn equipment. Sure it's got a spring loaded lid that clamps shut with remarkable force, but that's part of the secret for keeping the fuel mix fresh in storage. Flow control with the dispensing handle is clean and precise, and the parts of this can look to be made to last forever.

The flex spout fits into the tank opening of even my smallest chain saw, and is long and flexible. At the rate I use 2-stroke fuel, I only have to refill this can about 4 times a year, and even with the strong spring on the filler lid, it's not a problem at all. You just need to use two hands to get the gas station nozzle into the can. Then it holds itself.

Despite the high price, this gas can is so much better than ANY plastic junk out there that I am going to buy another one for plain gas for the mower and never store fuel in plastic containers again.
Don't hack your plastic gas jug - just spend the money now and save yourself some frustration.

Justrite must be thanking the EPA every day for making plastic gas cans unusable and pretty unsafe! This is a great can so far, I just got it - but was able to fill it up with gas and pour it in my snow blower with no leaks and no pressure build up spray spewing out. Very nice! I was a little reluctant to buy such an expensive can, but glad I did. I was looking at hacking my plastic jug - adding a vent and aftermarket nozzle but glad I just bit the bullet. I'm pretty sure I would have several hit and miss with the nozzle replacement and it would probably leak in the end.
Excellent fuel can!

Just the best gas/fuel cans out there! Worth every penny and more. It's encouraging to find things of this quality still being manufactured. Very easy to dispense gas without a drop being spilled. Thank you Justrite!!

Worth every penny. I don't know why it took me so long to replace my chainsaw and leaf blower plastic gas can that I keep in the bed of my truck. I have this dedicated to the oil/gas mix my gas tools take. Top quality all the way around, from the spout, handle, opening to dispense gas in, and body seams. No fumes that I could notice from this can, especially compared to plastic gas cans. May main issue with plastic was leakage, fumes, and it compressing/expanding depending on the weather changes. The Justrite metal can laughs those issues off. I'm replacing some of my 2-gallon plastic cans with these metal Justrite models. Spend the money, you'll be glad you did! Should last a lifetime.
Good looking can but QA/QC needs some work...

The can appears to be well built, but when I took it out of the package to examine it, the plunger seal for the outlet did not look right. It almost looked like it was not resting against the flange when the silver handle was fully released. I used a flashlight (placed against the outlet and then I looked into the can from the filler hole to see if I could see any light) to determine that the seal was in fact not resting against the flange when the handle was fully released. More inspection revealed that the "cut" ends of the (silver) handle were a little too long and not allowing the plunger mechanism to fully unload when the handle is released - this basically results in the plunger seal being partly open when the handle is at rest. I thought about breaking out the grinder to remove some of the metal on the handle but decided against that.

Anyway, I contacted Amazon and they are sending me a new one. Hopefully, the defect was just unit specific...maybe the person who makes the handles used too much wire stock. We'll see when the next can arrives. On a positive note, I did order a 2 gallon can at the same time, and that one seems to be working correctly (the handle has some play in it when it's released).

If the can works as well as they look, I'll be a happy guy!
