Purchased to make a mincemeat pie for my father-in-law's 91st birthday. What else do you get a person at that age/what do they need?! i loved getting two jars because now I have one to bake him another pie for Christmas. It's his favorite brand per my late m-i-l and I had to use a different brand last Christmas because the cost was astronomical. Most sellers are excessively gauging. This was a wonderful fin and the packaging was extremely impressive to ensure the glass jars arrived in tact. Also, the expediency of the shipmnt was stellar! I almost hate to give it such a great rating because now it will become hard to come by at a thisbest price.

The flavor was absolutely delicious! We made a pie for Thanksgiving and served with vanilla bean ice cream. The reason it wasn't a 5 star was that the consistency of the filling was too thin. After you cut a slice, you were left with a 2 layer empty crust setting in a pool of mincemeat. It really need thickened . But wow the taste/ spices were great!
