... the car when my partner mentioned how it smells good. I never thought about it

I was claying the car when my partner mentioned how it smells good. I never thought about it, but Griot's is the only brand that has good smelling products from their wheel cleaner, car wash, speed shine, and their clay. Considering that I'd trust their brand before any other, it's a nice feature. Griot's is definitely the best, always will be, for any car care.

After reading all the reviews on the Clay kit, I decided to give it a try. I have a 2013 Challenger RT classic Plum Crazy. I keep the car garaged and never drive it in the rain. The car is garaged from November to April. Since I was 16, I always keep my cars cleaned in mint conditioned and never let them get dirty. I could not believe the amount of dirt that came off. I always had problems with all the type of cleaners for road tar, that never really did a great job. Well the clay got the tar immediately off!!! The clay gave it a brilliant mirror shine. I also clayed the windows and rims. I first cleaned the rims using Barrett-Jackson wheel cleaner. I scrubbed them twice. I then clayed them and still couldn't believe how much dirt was removed. Left my rims shining better than when I use metal polish and buff them. After I clayed, I used Wolfgang's sealant using a DA buffer. The car came out with a superb brilliant mirror finish. You can see the difference in the pics. The first 3 are after being clayed. The last pics are with the Wolfgang Sealant. I will use no other clay bar. Griot"s Speed shine and clay bar are worth the money! Use top premium microfiber to clean the speed shine off. I used Chemical Guys. I find them the best.
Took clear overspray off my custom paint job. Works great, easy to use.

This stuff works great! I had never heard of "Clay bar" before. Here's my story. I had a small welding project outside in the driveway, which was followed up by a quick spray of clear enamel paint. Unbeknownst to me, the spring breeze was wafting the overspray, into the garage and all over my Mustang GT's custom paint job. Yep. Dork..Didn't close the door.. The entire upper part of the car and also my daily driver. Set out to cleaning it the best I know how, hard labor. Polishing compound and lots of rubbing. I was about 3/4 way though the Mustang when at a car club meeting I told my dilemma to a fellow club member. He then enlightened me about Clay Bar so I ordered this one. He also told me to use a good detailing spray as lubricant, so I used my Meguiers. This stuff simply wiped the overspray off the finish. I couldn't believe my eyes (well, fingers as the stuff was invisible) Not only did it take off the overspray, but any imperfections seemed to vanish. The finish was so smooth I couldn't believe it. Did the rest of the car in about half hour, then quickly grabbed the bottle of ReJex (I highly recommend) and gave it a waxing. This clay was easily pliable, and even more so after kneading it a bit. I just used a small portion so it appears it will go a long way. Be sure to use nice microfiber cloths.
Clay bar is worth doing and this clay bar system worked great for me.

Clay bar clean up work is something I never used to do but once I did it a few years ago to clean up some tree sap and bird stains on my wife's van, I became a believer. Waxing would simply not clear the paint but the clay bar did.
I don't obsess over my cars but do keep them pretty clean as a general rule. I've discovered that even with a garage kept car that's washed regularly, the paint still accumulates contaminants. My cars definitely look better when cleaned with a clay bar and waxed. Feeling that smoooooth paint afterwards is also strangely satisfying.
I've mostly used Mother's before since I could just pick it up at the auto parts place. Mother's worked fine but, even though this Griot's kit is more expensive, it's also a lot more material both in the spray and the clay. Not having done a side by side comparison I can't offer any statistical analysis but it absolutely seemed to me that this Griot's kit was much easier and faster.
The spay bottle is a good shape and doesn't fall over. The sprayer itself can dispense a fine mist with reasonable control of the over spray. The clay seems to works fast and stays together. The results are good.
They claim you can do 7 cars with this kit assuming they aren't too nasty. Having done both a large sedan (pretty clean) and an old Yukon SUV (pretty nasty) since I bought this, that 7 car estimate seems reasonable on both the clay and the spray. That would be only a little over $4 a car so this kit looks like a bargain to me. It's easier than what I was using and it's less expensive on a per car basis.
I don't do a lot of reviews but this kit was a pleasant surprise.
The quantity and quality in this kit make it worthy of five stars in my opinion.

A Great Deal for Clay Bar

This is the best deal I found for a larger amount of clay but without buying bulk. For home use on your own cars, this would take quite a while to work through so I thought this was a pretty ideal size to pick up.
I'm no pro detailer but I'm relatively experienced with working on my own cars and have tried a couple clay bars before this. Mostly I had used the Meguiar's clay and in comparison, this works similarly well but is a little softer. This may be a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for.
I've read a couple comments about "It doesn't fill the whole package, they ripped me off!!!!!". To be clear, you're buying 8 oz of clay, and this weighs 8 oz. You get what you pay for and absolutely aren't being "ripped off". They use standard size plastic jars that are also used for other Griot's products... the clay doesn't 100 percent fill out the jar but that doesn't mean they cheated you.
When using bulk clay like this, take care with how much you grab at a time. Once you drop it on the ground even once, it goes in the trash. You don't want to take any chances with what it picked up on the floor/ground. You want to keep a manageable amount.
