These helped ease some of the homesickness to be in such a wonderful place full of happy and peaceful memories

I miss living in Okinawa, Japan. These helped ease some of the homesickness to be in such a wonderful place full of happy and peaceful memories. Not quite the same as
Small, tastes a little plasticky. Buy fresh if possible.

Buy fresh when you can. Though it didn't taste terrible, it did taste like plastic especially considering who know how long it sits in it's plastic tray packaging. Luckily there's an Asian supermarket in the area and they do sell daifuku so I will gladly go there instead. They are also on the smaller size, two bites and done. The filling does taste like beans and sugar put together and not wet/creamy looking like the package cover, definitely a dry bean paste.
Sheer perfection

I have been eating moji rice cakes w/ red bean filling (monju) all my life and believe me, these are terrific! The rice cake consistency is perfect and the red bean filling is just OMG good. Will most definitely be ordering more!!!!
Pricy...for what you get!

You only get 6 mochi, and this feels expensive for the price you pay! I would find a local source which would be much cheaper. The quality of the mochi, however, was pretty good. Exterior not too gooey, had just the right amount of "give" to firm ratio (LOL, maybe I could become an expert on mochi b/c I love it), and slightly sweet. Not too powdery! It's all gone. That's the thing about mochi. I'm addicted and there is no food value - just calories to add to my waistline. I need to give it up.
It is alright for a box mochi....

It is alright for a box mochi if you need your mochi fix. I tasted homemade mochi so this is not on same level as homemade mochi of course. It satisfied my mochi cravings.
