I have old answering machine tapes with messages I wanted to hear again and this enabled me to do so.
I'm Small but Work Hard

This little cassette was really good I wished I had not lost it in the flood here in Houston. That's the only thing that stopped it from working. But it worked great I really got a lot of use out of it.
Product is all right.

Works great, awesome for live sessions when I am working on novel ideas and do not have paper, great recording quality and playback. Convenient for my needs. Digital units tend to distort if they are under $100 and this is more in my price range.

Edited: I had to dock a couple stars because the recorder started distorting the sound after a while of use. Tried different tapes, same result. It worked perfectly for a few months, though.
Save your money .... figure out how to use digital rather than this unless you own a battery company

This is the worst micro cassette recorder I have ever used. The buttons do not depress easily and the tape does whatever it wants. The worse part about this recorder is the fact that it NEVER turns off. We could not figure out why it was eating soo many batteries. Finally one day in a rare moment of silence at my office I heard it humming. Even without a tape in it the machine it eating batteries. I now have to take the batteries out of the recorder each time I finish with it. We are now looking for the DC3V adapter but having the recorder plugged in basically defeats the purpose of having on this small. I am a paralegal and my bosses refuse to part with the actual micro cassettes so this will continue to be the bane of my existence for a while longer.
Cheap is as cheap does...

Two months and buttons are already breaking off. Unit is also quite large compared to Sony and Olympus models. Pricing at $8.95 was the only attraction as it is difficult to find new microcassette recorders at any reasonable price due to the switchover from tape to digital technology. Note: bought this item in 2014: label on back indicates it was manufactured in June 2009, so it's been sitting in someone's warehouse for about 5 years.
