Accurate and easy to use

Accurate and easy to use. This unit comes with a nice carrying case. The carrying case has its own lanyard, and the meter has its own lanyard. So it is very easy to not lose either of them. The case also has room for spare batteries if you wish to carry them there. My case also has room for the instructions in the provided plastic protector case. When not in use, the unit shuts off quickly which extends battery life. As long as it is reading a pulse, it does not shut off.

I worry that this critique is simply a critique of all pulse ox readers, but sometimes this one can pop up with wildly inaccurate readings that don't correct themselves for half a minute or so. It can create stressful half-minute intervals on a daily basis. Otherwise, it works well, it just sometimes needs a little bit of time to reach the accurate reading as you stand there and contemplate running to get help with a short of breath patient reading an 85 O2.

Product was recommended to me by a respiratory therapist and I'm glad she did so! The unit is simple to operate and has options for how one wants to carry it. The accessories are high quality, in my opinion, and the readings are in sync with other, more sophisticated, instruments. A good buy if one is interested in heart rate and oxygen readings when exercising or otherwise. I have COPD and A-fib, so this is a real help in keeping track of things.

I bought an SM-110 three years ago. I checked the accuracy by against ones used at the hospital and it was dead on. I gave my unit to my mother recently and ordered another one just like it on Amazon. It came promptly but it was reading the oxygen level lower than the one I gave my mother. I called Gurin Products LLC in Santa Ana CA. , they were the ones who shipped it to me. I explained my problem and the shipped me another one at no cost and it arrived the next day. This is a great company to do business with and the SantaMedical Deluxe SM-110 is a good product. I would recommend it to anyone needing one.

Works well at home and in the medical office. As a therapist I ordered this to do biofeedback with clients. I like the case and carrying strap, very practical. I've also used this pretty regularly with my elderly parents when they're having medical problems. Incidentally the read out is the same as the very expensive one my dad got from the VA. My sister is a medical assistant who works in pediatrics. She uses this same brand, model at work. She likes how it will hold the reading with active kids, especially the little ones.
