Super Glue ? ? ?
Astrogirl✓ Verified Purchase•January 15, 2024
Purchased to make broken/cracked nail repairs with silk wraps and while using, scent strongly reminds me of super glue. I have used super glue in the past as a quick fix. Anyway, was easier to use because of the brush instead of trying to spread it around with a typical super glue dispenser. It works as described, so happy with that.
UPDATE: After using a few more times, I find gel taking awhile (more than 5 seconds) to dry. I tried using less as I may have used too much, but that did not seem to help. I may have not noticed at first because it was new to me and was taking my time. Since it is a gel, it is a bit thicker than say super glue. I did use professional super glue on my last repair for comparison and it dried quicker. The one thing I am keeping in mind, is that super glue can be dangerous if not used properly or spilled. I think you would have more time to work with gel if anything happened.

May Work Better For You

I bought this product two times in the past to use with dip powder sets for my nails and while it does work, I eventually realized I must have some sort of allergic reaction to a chemical in here because my cuticles would get itchy, swollen and warm and my nose would stuff up and I would start coughing. I didn't want to believe I was allergic to it because it did work really well. My nails were strong and hard and they lasted a long time. I would give this a try but discontinue use if you feel as if you are having a reaction like me.
Great product, read some hints here.

I'm reordering this. I have very thin nails and never can grow them out naturally. Have used silk and fiberglass wraps, acrylics, gels, tips and full nails, self-applied and salon applied. Hate the full nails of any kind because they look pretty fake and look bad when they grow out at the cuticle. When I have to get the whole thing off I'd end up taking up layers of my nail. With all of these methods, eventually I would have so much nail damage I'd have to stop wearing anything for about 6 months to regrow healthy nails. Prefer to do my own because that way I can repair one when I need to without bothering to go to a salon.
Here's how it works for me: I do a French nail by painting the tip with Sally Hanson X treme Hard as Nail White, two coats or even 3. Of course, it is difficult to get a good moon, but I'm getting better at this all the time. I correct errors with dipping the pointed tip thingys like a Q-tip into polish remover and carefully correct the moon. Let dry (This may take 10 minutes or so) and then apply this IBD resin and use the ASP resin activator spray (to avoid waiting 20 minutes for this to dry). Then I use Sally Hanson Miracle GEL top coat over the whole nail, two coats. This is enough to give them strength and I'm able to wear them medium long-- past my fingertips. And, the best thing is that they end up thinner than acrylic or gel nails, so more natural looking. Before they grew out to a good length I used Nail Bliss French Wrap Plus, Thick tips to extend the nail a little. Occasionally, I still use one of these if a nail splits or breaks. Now, I don't do a whole set at once. I just redo each nail as needed by soaking in acetone remover and wiping with a paper towel to remove the old stuff, then following the steps above. Some last 2 weeks, some don't. Some days I will redo a nail or two, sometimes none. Works for me.
I have used color polish on the whole nails but they don't look as long that way, so I end up going back to the French look. Now and then I'll do an accent nail by polish the tip with gold or a bright color.
FYI, I see that ASP has a gel and some say that it is thicker than this product, but I'm staying with this. On nails that need more strength/thicknesses I can use two coats of this and it works out fine.

Easy to apply, dries quickly, works great (especially in conjunction with "Nail Bandage")

Works VERY well, great in fact and will dry quickly if applied thinly. I have also used it in conjunction with the "Nail Bandage" (also offered on Amazon; comes in various sizes to choose from [but easily trimmed to any size you need]). For severe breaks I used a thin layer of gel, then immediately applied a nail bandage, let it set abit, then applied another THIN coat of gel and the repair has NEVER failed.
Aside: I'm in the process of growing our severely damaged nails (gels and acrylics) and also HIGHLY RECOMMEND Nailtique Formula 2+; it works wonders and quickly (managed to keep my tissue paper thin nails until they fully grew out).
