Savings, convenience, and quality!
MEATYJuly 15, 2017
Installed on a 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek with perfect results. It stays tucked up out of the way from being hit by anything and the spring-loaded valve lever has to be pressed AND moved in order to open the valve. I installed a tight-fitting valve cap for extra insurance, but I strongly doubt anything can make this valve fail under normal use. Build quality is top notch, and convenience of being able to control the drain flow is priceless. I'm able to drain the oil into quart containers if I wish for easy disposal, or take a sample for an oil analysis easily. This valve pays for itself since I no longer have to purchase the crush washers for each oil change.
Must Have for Gen 5 Subaru Outback

Got this just before doing the first oil change on my 2017 Outback. There are enough fasteners (both plastic snap and 12mm bolt) that removing the plastic splashguard is a royal pain -- and while there is a cutout to access the drain bolt, I'm sure I couldn't remove it without causing a huge mess with the splashguard in place. I wouldn't want to remove that guard more than necessary, and this tucks up nicely, is protected by the frame, and will make future oil changes MUCH easier. Between this and the top-mount oil filter on the 2.5L H4, I can practically change oil in my work clothes now!

Only wish is that it came (Prime) with the safety clip for just a few bucks more. The only other way to get the clip is to order direct and pay more in shipping than the clip costs!

Included washer burst when tightened. I used a normal wrench, no cheater bar, just hand tightened. I'm a puny guy too. But part of the blue washer compressed enough that it chipped off, and I have a slow leak now. Left a big spot of my driveway overnight that'll never come out... I'll have to find something to drain my brand new expensive oil into, take it back off and probably replace with a standard crush washer. I contacted the company about this but don't want to let it just keep leaking long enough to get a response.

After installing in my Subaru Impreza a few months ago, I did my first oil change with this valve yesterday. I was simply blown away with how easy and clean this process was. This was the first time I have ever completed an oil change with out a single drop falling on my garage floor. No leaks, no burned hands, and one step oil recycling as I placed the other end of the tube in an empty oil container. In fact, I was able to complete my oil change, bring my car off the ramps, wash then re-install my air filter, and put everything away so quickly, when I took my oil to be recycled, the attendant commented on how warm the oil still was. Like other reviewers, I do not know why car manufactures do not have such a valve already built into new cars. I highly recommend. The pictures are towards the end of the oil change.
Valve-tastic

Just did my first oil change with this puppy attached to my 2014 Subaru Forester. The valve performed its job flawlessly. The change was a tool-less breeze. Well, near tool-less. I had to crank on the oil filter a bit, but that's out of scope for this review. Made the whole experience much cleaner than with a traditional pan nut. Excepting that the 2014 Foresters have the shielding on the underside and the slit they give you to access the oil pan nut is a bit small. So getting at the valve lever can be a bit tricky if you're aiming to keep your hands 100% clean. Again, this is out of scope. I recommend this line of products to everybody.
Fun note: I also made a cap for the nub so as to prevent anything from getting in at the valve. I took 1.5" to 2" of the plastic tubing (probably that stuff you see recommended above) flamed up one end (aiming for the inside of the tubing) to melting point and pinched it together. Works great. I'm buying a Fumoto for my next vehicle without a doubt.
