This works just as if you're tuning the controls on the subwoofer itself. However it only adjusts up to what's set on the actual subwoofer. For example, if you have the frequency and volume turned all the way down on the sub, then this control doesn't do anything. If you turn both up to maximum on the sub, then the remote can control the full range of volume and frequency. Now the problem is I'm always playing with controls to get the PERFECT setting for every song that comes on the radio!

Works great, easy to install and the bracket mount was convenient. Actually use the LED on it to let me know my amp is turned on so as I can't see the amp so it works as a visual indicator also.
