It;s been running in my pond 24/7 all summer long for 3 years now. I reach in and swipe the crud off the opening every day and occasionally have to pop it apart to pull crud from the inside if it quits running, about a 5 minute job.

GOOD PUMP FOR ALPINE EIGHT TIER FOUNTAIN THAT IS FOUR FEET TALL AND ONE FOOT WIDE. PROVIDES A NICE WATER FLOW WITHOUT SPLASHING.

I bought the pump for a small lion head fountain. It works perfectly and without any issues. It is pumping water about 12 inches from the bowl to the lion's mouth. I would recommend it.
