Decent light, but I have a few minor issues with this (see review)
Richard S✓ Verified Purchase•August 11, 2023
This is a decent light but the beam is more spot than flood. Also, like many less expensive LEDs, the white color is tinted toward blue (cooler - 3200K ish).
The magnetic base does a great job keeping the light in place and the switch is easy to operate... on/off. No different levels of brightness. The swivel head is decent and keeps the beam in the right direction, so it's doing everything as expected.
My complaints about this light (I bought 2) are:
1) that it's closer to a spot light, whereas a flood would be more useful to me
2) it's not bright enough, seems like its ~100 lumens or less (even with new batteries)
3) would prefer a warmer color (2700-3000K)
However it does a good job putting light on an area (spot) and the magnetic base holds the light fixture very well. The battery lasts a long time too, which is nice (and as you would expect with LED lighting)

So far the best utility light I've used for tight spaces.

This is the same review as I put on the big one. They are virtually the same light, They have about the same intensity, one just has a bigger illumination spot. So if you wondered like me if you had to get the big one to get the lighting you need, you don't. The only difference I saw was with the size, not the intensity of the spot it created.
I have a project car in my garage. Working on wires under the dash can be a challenge. The wires have a variety of colors with a variety of colored stripes on them, so the fact that the light it produces is white is a big help. Because there is an inherent bit of blue in white LED lights, the fact that it is very bright (you can't even look directly at it) actually makes it possible to see the proper colors. The magnetic mount is a big help because who ever has a spare hand to hold a light while working on a car? There is a lot of steel on a car. The But don't fear that the magnets will scratch anything, the rubber base makes for soft contact. The swivel mount allows you to position the light over a wide variety of angles. I think that a wide variety of lights is always necessary when working in tight quarters, but this light comes the closest to being a "do everything" light. I highly recommend it.
Plus a couple of hints. I recommend putting a little baggie or piece of plastic wrap over the base, because even though the rubber won't scratch anything the magnets are decently strong and can pick up little metal bits, which could scratch or just gather on the magnets. This way you can put the baggie off and the metal bits just fall off.
The aluminum housing is not much of a selling point. It is very thin and even flexes just like a piece of plastic, plus the rest of the light is made of plastic. I guess at least you won't have to worry about it cracking from heat or anything.
Just to make it clear, I am not affiliated with the product in any way. I just do a lot of work in dark confined places and I'm always having trouble holding lights on my work until I got these. I said to myself, "finally a light for me." Then I bought two more. The small one is just as good as the big one. I could easily have lived with the small one. They are equally bright, the big one just has a larger "spot."

Best light I've found for task lighting.

I bought this primarily to use working on the car because of its magnetic base. However, I've found many other uses for it as well. Because of it's flat base it can sit on any flat surface, metal or not, and is so adjustable that the light can be directed any number of directions. One of my first uses was to clean out the trap under a bathroom sink. It sat it on the floor of the cabinet and illuminated the entire work area. Then I used it to do some electrical wiring in the laundry room. With this as my only source of light I was able to install two three way switches, the light, and tie it into an existing electrical box. It has a very bright light and the leds go easy on the battery. It's relatively small so it doesn't get in the way but still puts out a lot of light. I wish I could give it more stars.
Very bright, nice magnetic base. Only downside is the AAA batteries.

I'm giving this thing 4 stars instead of 5 only because it takes AAA batteries, which I hate. AA batteries are not much bigger, but pack a lot more power - they last 2-3 times as long for not being all that much larger physically.
The magnetic base is strong, and the light is really bright. I find myself using this all the time in the garage when I am working on a car. It is very nice to be able to stick it on to something metal and point it right where I need it, knowing it is not going to move.
My only complaint is the battery life due to the AAA batteries. After an afternoon of use, the batteries are worn out and need to be replaced. I have replaced the batteries many times already after using this light on several projects.
Yes, I do see that the same company makes a bigger version of this same light that runs off AA batteries. I did not buy that one because it is a lot more expensive and some reviewers mention the magnetic base is not strong enough. Maybe I will end up buying one anyways and swapping the bases if I need to.
I will just keep a stash of AAA batteries in my toolbox and replace them more often than I would like. Aside from my complaint about the batteries, this is a great little light. Very bright and very convenient. I hardly ever use my old corded shop light anymore since I got this thing.

Strong magnet, bright light, swiveling head, common batteries

I was looking for a flashlight to use when we are hooking up our trailer at night, and this one fit the bill. The magnet is strong enough to affix to the front of the tailgate when it is closed, and the swivel head allows us to point the light directly down at the trailer hitch and ball. The magnet isn't so strong that it's hard to remove from the tailgate, and I don't think it's doing any damage. There is a more expensive model of this light that has more LEDs, so it must be brighter, but this one works fine. We used to use a headlamp, but of course every time you move your head, you move the light. Plus the headlamps use those flat, hard to find, and expensive batteries. This one uses more common, inexpensive AAAs. (The reason I didn't give it a five star rating, is that I don't know how long the batteries will last, or how durable the light will be. Time will tell.) We found another use for the light too...I removed it from the tailgate and put it upside on the metal bumper of our Jeep, after we loaded it on the trailer, and it was bright enough to make plenty of light to attach and check the load straps. Very handy light.
