I love this bag for a long list of reasons, and absolutely hate it for one.

I love this bag for a long list of reasons, and absolutely hate it for one. Buy it, but know the drawbacks.

Pros:

- Amazing Build Quality:
The 1000D Cordura wears really well. The snaps & zippers are decent though the main shoulder latch feels a little chintzy. The bag body is rigid if loaded/weighted evenly. The velcro dividers are crazy strong.

- Ample Capacity:
The main top-load chute holds an SLR with an 12" mounted lens and still has room for 2 smaller lenses underneath. The top flap holds filters & cards while the sides hold bulkier items like batteries, QR plates, food, etc.

- MOLLE!
Expand storage or attach things in more convenient locations. I added a phone pouch on the front of the shoulder sling, a bottle holder on one side, and a monopod on the other)

- Looks Badass:
Admit it, that's why you're here. The vanity velcro patch is already in your cart.

Cons:

- NON REVERSIBLE.
This is a big one - carries on ONE shoulder only. That shoulder will hurt by the end of the day. There is a cross support tangent to the main strap that helps center the weight but you'll find yourself taking frequent breaks to give your shoulder a rest. This ONE drawback almost kills this bag. Why offer so much storage if you all of it must always ONE shoulder?

- Design: A well thought-out sling that you're buying to use as a top-loader.
It's a great sling bag, and a great long lens protector, but not really both of those at the same time. Carrying long glass mandates top-loading which this bag was not designed to do quickly. More often than not I find myself using this to hike out to a location, removing it to kit up, then wearing both the bag and the my camera until I'm done shooting. If I see a bird en route there's very little chance I can free up my camera and get a shot off without spooking it. Not a big minus but consider your field workflow when purchasing.
It is EVERYTHING they say it is and as good as all the reviews here

I purchased and returned this. It is EVERYTHING they say it is and as good as all the reviews here, and on other sites. Very compact and durable. The velcro dividers were VERY strong. Just enough room for a couple lenses and my K3II, with plenty of extra room for cables, batteries, filters, phone etc. Was going to use molle pouches for flashes. If this was just an inch or two wider, an if it was designed to be used as a backpack first, I would buy again. I just didn't like how it felt as a sling.
Top Choice for Adventurous Photographers

I like to photograph wildlife and landscapes and I spend lots of time in the mountains of Montana walking, running and crawling through treacherous terrain - I pack my D3300 and D7200 with 3 lenses a tripod, a monopod, spare batteries, cleaning equipment and lens filters. When it is packed like this, it is full; but, not bursting at the seams and everything is quite accessible at a moments notice - my equipment is also well protected by the padding. The pack is made of solid material that is very tough AND I do not notice it when I need to pay attention to my footing and the terrain around me - I own many high quality packs and this is my choice for when I am going on serious photographic hikes in the wilderness. This is a very well thought out pack. I will be looking at Hazard 4 whenever i buy packs in the future.
Perfect for the more adventurous photog (or wannabe photog)

Pretty much everything from Hazard 4 is of excellent quality and this is no exception.

I use this with the Jelly Roll Lens/Scope/Bottle Padded Case for my camera kit - 6D, four lenses, and full kit including 6 batteries, dual charger, filters, hoods, flash, etc. It keeps my very expensive glass and body nice and safe. This and the regular Recon pack are my go-to bags - easy to use, super durable, comfortable, convenient, etc. I'm not a pro photog - I "take nice pictures" - so I don't know if this is truly pro grade. What I do know is that I beat the snot out of most things I own, and this pack (and my regular recon) ask for more. Got it dirty? empty it out and throw it in the washer - done. need to run off fast? it has space for the full kit and is ready to roll. I have not seen or used anything better.

Note that the Jelly Roll is necessary for carrying larger lenses like the 100-400 and it straps right on, securely, in about one minute.
Tacticool camera bag for the weekend warrior photographer, but has it's limits

I bought this bag to replace a Think Tank Airport Ultralight I've been carrying for the last several years. I wanted something I could travel with and be comfortable carrying around on vacation. I also needed extra room, as my photo kit keeps growing.

Here's what I carry:

Canon 5D Mark III + battery grip
100-400mm zoom
24-105mm zoom
8-15mm zoom
180mm prime
speedlite
GoPro + mounts
assorted camera care items (sterile wipes, caps, dust bulb)

Carrying all this stuff in my old bag stretched it's limits. I liked the MOLLE webbing on the Photo Recon's design. I figured I could attach an external pouch or two if I needed the room. There is a variety of pouches to add on from Hazard 4, but I didn't order any. The bag itself would be fine for a similar camera without the battery grip. Mine fit, but just barely, and it made it hard to pull out. Also, the movable inserts that allow for customization of the internal sections don't provide much in the way of being sturdy. Not sure that description was clear, so I'll illustrate with my issue. The DSLR body with a shortish lens attached pushed the dividers down during carry. The result is the rig is deeper in the bag after a while. The side flap access was handy for lenses and such, but the flash would never fit with all the other lenses. The 100-400mm just barely squeezed in and only with the hood stowed.

The cross-chest strap was comfortable and seemed like it would be so for long periods of carry. But putting it on and getting it off was awkward. It has the quick-release, but you'd have to sit somewhere to use it or have a friend hold it while you fasten the clasp.

Construction was sturdy, padding was sufficient. I knocked off a star for the almost-fit and awkward carry strap. I would recommend this to someone with only one camera body (without battery grip) and a few lenses, or two gripless bodies and a couple of lenses. For the curious, I went back to Think Tank for their Airport Accelerator.
