Excellent For Canoe Camping

Took these eggs on a 5 day canoe camping trip and they served their purpose. However, I can't agree that they taste exactly like fresh eggs like so many others claim. They are impressively close but are a bit "cardboardy". That being said, they exceeded my expectations and will be a staple going forward on all my camping trips. Note: The key to these eggs is to hit the water requirement on the mark. By the third day we had it down but before then we did have a bit of a runny breakfast.

I bought two #10 cans (6 pack per can, total of $70 then, $135 now with shipping) of these eggs in March 2013 and the expiration date is October 2020. Seven years shelf life.
I got these 12 individual packs August 2017 and their expiration date is January 2020!

Bought these for back-packing trips, and was really happy. I portioned them out into daily servings, which made them a breeze to prep in the mornings. I only used them for scrambled eggs, but for those they worked fantastic! The water blended in easily using a fork, and they weren't lumpy or runny. Of course nothing can beat fresh eggs, but for back-packing, I found these great, especially with the addition of some freeze dried cheese! These will definitely be part of our back-packing pantry from now on, and I'm really glad I found them!

I have tried my best to dehydrate my own eggs with little success. I find the texture is off on my homemade attempts. These eggs are amazing! They really do cook like fresh eggs and taste like fresh eggs! They scramble up nicely after adding the required water and no rehydration is needed... just add water, stir, and cook. The texture is just like fresh eggs. These have become a staple in my camping and backpacking menu. I wouldn't hesitate trying them if you are on the fence...... there is nothing like tasty, fluffy eggs when on the trail!!!!

These things are great! I wanted to try them out before my last hike. I followed the direction to the letter (which, if you know me, is how I live my life pretty much) and the final product was amazing. Unless you are a foodie or a food snob, which I decidedly am not, you will love these. The first time I made these egg crystals, I did not add anything and it tasted like a good, plain omelet. The second third and fourth time I whipped these babies up, I added a slice or two of cheese and had a great cheese omelet. They really do taste just like real eggs, which, in fact, they are. Get these; you won't be sorry.
