This is a much better alternative to the grounding bridges that are found in most big box stores. It allows OTA antennas, satellite dish and other applications to be grounded in a easy and clean installation. The cover is secured by a screw and stays put. This is a well manufactured item with the capacity to handle most home based needs, I am glad I found it and recommend it highly.

Local home improvement stores had ground blocks, but they didn't have a nice vinyl cover. I was installing a brand new grounding system for the house, and I wanted to upgrade the house bonding situation; over the years cable TV, satellite and phone installers ran their green grounding wire and ground straps all over the place and it looked very messy and un-professional. Also it was un-safe; if the steel electrical raceway from the pole was ever replaced with PVC then the ground straps would no longer be bonded to ground, causing voltage spikes in the house's telecom equipment. This helps combine all grounding and make the house much safer.

One more note: the National Electric Code requires it to be installed in an "accessible" location, meaning it cannot be indoors and/or locked. It must be outdoors and unlocked for cable/satellite/phone companies to monitor and access.
