Simplicity in motion. You insert and clamp the top to the neck of the bottle. As the carbonation tries to escape, it enters a little hole in the silicone stopper portion and expands it naturally to a perfect, solid seal. It makes WAY too much sense, haha. The clamp is easy to use, light but not flimsy. Be CAREFUL when re-opening, because as others have mentioned, this will be like opening a brand new bottle - but when you unclamp, it WILL pop if you're not ready for it - be careful... I have NO idea why people would complain about that, but.... oh well.

This works well. Maybe too well. The seal and clasp holds on to the sparkling wine bottle well - I am a wine sales rep so this is important and it does the job better than the other stoppers available on amazon.
It's when you are opening the bottle that's the problem. It is loud. I had a sparkling wine (a Cremant de Bourgogne) I was showing customers today and twice it scared the pants out of people in the room, despite my ultra-slow, careful attempt to open the bottle with minimum sound. The second time I did this today, it was so loud that I actually felt a ringing in my ears (like when you are playing Call of Duty on the PS3, and a flash bang grenade goes off near you and there's that high pitched sound). If there's a technique to opening this without making my ears bleed I'd be open to learning it, but right now it's hard to justify using it for high-carbonation drinks like Champagne, Prosecco etc. I might just save it for ciders in 750mls (lower carbonation).

This is the best design ever for a champagne stopper. I first got one of these at a wine shop in Paris and it worked so well I went looking for one for a friend when I got back to the US. I left a half consumed bottle of champagne in my fridge with this stopper on for a week while I went out of town and it was still GREAT when we got back into town! A must for anyone who wants to drink sparkling wines without the commitment of drinking a full bottle!

This stopper is the third we've purchased so that we would have one at home, one on the boat and give one as a gift. We are really pleased with the way it seals leftover champagne. If it's a fairly full bottle, it is startling to open the stopper. It makes the same sound as it did when the cork was removed. We have had "wing"-type stoppers in the past, but they do not seal as tightly and have slightly rusted. This stopper is far better.

Being a wine lover, eventually the lighter side of bubbles is a must. But, I cannot drink the whole thing myself and the hubs didn't want any. Realized just then, I need a bubbles stopper!
Having used the vacuum ones for regular wine, this one is a must. It works perfectly and easily. I love the design. Very secure. Realized this is the one used in restaurant bars.
