This is an absolutely awesome device! Great for "holding onto" small items such as stuffed animals, cloth dolls, etc. while you do embroidery or hand sewing. I made a braided rug for my daughter's Barbie dollhouse. Third hand held the ends while I braided. I'm sure others will find many alternate uses for it.

This thing really works well. It holds fabric tightly without damaging it. The clamp is adequate. In the future, I may have to replace the thin string with something more substantial, but it works fine right now. And the price is great.

My grandmother had a sewing bird on her machine, and it was both a pin cushion and a third hand--the antiques available are too expensive, and the birds are rarely clamps. This will take the place of her bird-- it works great!

Used it to make a hem on sheer fabrics, and worked like a charm. Was surprised the grippers held so well. Looks like it was made very well, also. Definitely will be a regular tool in my sewing box.
