Bam cases are ultimate! Light weight, excellent build quality. Compact.
Not at all up to BAM standards and not worth the $

Two stars is being generous. This is a hugely disappointing case from BAM. For context I should say that I owned a BAM Liberty case for many years (and LOVED IT) then when one of its zippers busted I bought a cute yellow Bobelock Arrow Fiberglass 1027 (Not as practical with no music pouch and not as comfortable without Liberty's backpack system, but I was still happy with it). But it was time to retire the yellow because as a professional violinist in a pit it does not camouflage well, so I tried this case.

For starters, if you've had another BAM case and expect the same quality of parts. Not so here. Everything from handles to zippers seems cheap.

The case also fits really snug so it is too tight for my violin without it causing a lot of friction every time I get it in and out.

It also sadly has the classic really terrible BAM foam smell (think memory foam on steroids)...but that did eventually go away with my Liberty.

But worst of all the case does not stay open unless on a perfectly flat surface (open the case on your lap, or an angle, forget it) and even then when you put your instrument in the lid falls shut.

Sadly returning immediately.

If you're a professional and expecting BAM quality, you won't. If you're a student and you don't care about BAM quality, you can find far better cases for less money.
LOVE this case

LOVE this case. It's so nice to carry - light and i love the shape - i had a large rectangle before. My only complaint is that the "music pocket" doesn't fit a folder of 8.5" x 11" common letter-size paper. I have to sort of shove it in and my music is always creased & folded at one corner. which drives me (OCD) nuts just a little. Not a HUGE deal but they could have accounted for letter-sized paper fitting in. it only needed another like half inch to fit well. forget about fitting a slightly larger folder or music book.... oh well. beautiful case anyway...
Nice looks, but heavy and not so safe

I purchased the particular case from uk. I chose it mainly for its beautiful design and its known brand. Unfortunately, I ordered it only after looking it through internet pages.
Pros: Good looks, interior that makes you feel safe for the violin, well organized for storage of accessories
Cons: -Heavy, heavy, heavy!!! I had to carry it empty from Heathrow to Greece, and it was first time in my life that a violin case troubled me for its weight.
-Although the interior seems of good quality, the outside plastic fabric and plastic leather seems cheap when you see it from close
-The back of the case opens at 90 degrees exactly causing the accidental closure of it all the time. Short of dangerous if you are the person who likes to have his case open and leave the violin with its shoulder rest on for a second.
-What I find the stupidest think of all is that the closure of the case depends exclusively on a single zipper!!! If something goes wrong and the zipper is stuck, you end up with a case that has no althernative method of locking or closing
In any case it looks a lot nicer and safer than it actually is- plus its price is attractive. But don't be fooled you buy what you pay. Don't buy it before you place it on your shoulder first!
