I can't yet speak for the durability, but these were definitely as advertised. There is a canvas like material over the top side and also over the portion that gets glued to the rail. I am definitely thrilled with their performance. What a difference! But....my old cushions were so shot, I think anything would have impressed me.
As a sidenote, I believe these cushions were advertised as fitting an eight or nine foot table. However, they were cheaper than cushions for a 7 foot table and also included prime shipping. I only have a 7 foot table, but bought these larger size cushions strictly for the savings.
