Great
BULLCU•August 9, 2017
Works wonderful.
Good remote - easy to read/use. Programming not intuitive.

Works very well. Programming is a bit wonky as other reviewers have mentioned - but once you figure it out it is fine. My explanation: Timed program divides day in two twelve hour blocks (AM and PM). You can program one on/off period within each. When program is off - unit defaults to the thermostat setting in the non program mode. So in our case being retired - we want the house low at night and higher during the entire day. So you set the AM period on to increase the heat when you get up - say 7:30am - then that set that period to go off at 12:00 pm (noon). Set the PM period to go on at 12:00 pm and off at bedtime - say 10:30. So that left the heat on high all day and low at night.

Replaced an out of date and malfunctioning fireplace remote. I mounted this on a wall about 15' away form the fireplace. It works great. My old remote barely worked if you stood in front of the fireplace. I am still amazed at how well this works.
Easy Setup

This was so easy to install on my fireplace insert and easy to program. It works great, my last remote didn't always turn on/off when you pressed the button but this has not failed once. I love using my fireplace in the winter all the time and this remote makes it so much better. The touch screen doesn't look as up to standards as other touch screens you might be familiar with like your phone but it does work and I'm very happy with it.
Update 2/1/16
After using the remote all the time, I discovered that the unit that goes under the fireplace has an alert so if the temperature reaches over 120 degrees it will start beeping and automatically turn off the fireplace. Apparently my gas insert gets very hot so about ten minutes in, the unit turns off. After calling the company, I discovered that the unit cannot be placed underneath it has to sit outside, which is kind of a pain and makes it visible to see. Other than that I am still happy with the remote.

As easy to install as plugging in your vacuum.

This thing really couldn't have been any easier to install.
I literally put batteries in it, plugged it into my fireplace (placing it at the bottom, hiding it away with all the wires and pipes), pressed the remote and...foomp, fire!
If all the DIY stuff we bought was as easy to use as this thing, there would be no need for tradesmen.
Awesome!
