Works, but not like it should

This is the remote that said to go with the gas log set I bought off amazon. However, the remote works backwards off is really on and on is really off. And it is certainly not temperature control even though you can move the temperature up and down on the remote, the fire place never kicks on/off at the temperature set. I had this installed by a highly reputable gas company, Amerigas,who initially could not get the remote to work at all and then finally when some wires were switched it did work, but like I said backwards?!? If it wasn't already installed by a licensed professional I would have sent it back. This remote it's to cheap functioning to cost as much as it does. Save yourself the money and hassle just buy a simple on/off remote or a gas fireplace that already comes with a remote!

Installed professionally, but came on anytime (day and night) no matter what temp was set, so just turned off and just have manual for this winter and will see next year if I want to buy another after having professional check it out. Would not buy another one however. Ones I have had in past had no problems at all.

Love this remote. I had just purchased a vent free gas stove and the remote that came with the stove was "on/off" only. I ordered this remote and once it arrived it took about 3-5 minutes to remove the old sensor and install the one that came with this remote. No tools required....just pull the two old wires off and push the new ones on. Thermostat works great.

Moved into a new home and fireplace had a transmitter that was broken and the remote was lost. Replaced with this unit and works like a charm.
