Not what I thought it was.

I only gave this a low rating because it isn't what I was looking for. I need a remote that tuns the stove on based on temperature. This looks just like the one I was replacing so I thought that was what I was getting. I must have missed something when reading the description. It works great for what it does, it just doesn't do what I need it to do.

Of the options listed, I chose to replace the wall switch...followed the instructions verbatim; the installation took approximately 20 minutes and was very simple. Paired up the remote with the receiver as prescribed and followed the instructions through the various manual and remote modes...very nice!!

Super easy to install and something we use every day. Started by getting one for the bedroom fireplace and loved it enough to install one in the living room, too, despite it being completely unnecessary... The timer function is the best thing ever - we set it to take the chill out of the air while we're going to sleep and don't have to worry about the fireplace running all night long.

This thing actually works! I was skeptical since the builder and the company that installed my linear fireplace told me that I would't be able to use a remote. They said that because the on/off switch was battery activated, it would not be possible to connect a remote. The builder WAS going to charge me $365 for the remote until they realized that it "couldn't be done". Well, it COULD be done and for a whole lot less!!! This is a great accessory that I installed myself! I wouldn't recommend installing it unless you're handy though....
