Love the grinder!! Don’t love the slicer.

The grinder attachment deserves five stars!! The rotary slicer deserves one. The blades were very dull and did not slice my food, but turned it to mush. But back to the grinder! If you want to do any kind of mass quantity of grinding or sausage stuffing, this is not what you're looking for. (My boyfriend the Hunter was severely disappointed.) However, if you want to make some really excellent burgers for dinner or your own breakfast sausage, this is a dream! Love, love, love it!!!
Poorly made from a great brand.

The plastic is very cheap i dont expect these to last long one accidental drop and i see this breaking into pieces.Considering the quality of off brand equivalents? I think kitchen aid attempted to save money here! The attachments do the job and well though! Oh and good luck cleaning them my first try was carrots and it stained orange now after my first use.
it just came out like paste. Now

I have tried 2/3 of the attachment - I used the meat grinder and the sausage stuffer; I have not used the grating attachment yet. So this review is based on just those two parts.

The meat grinder was ok, but the meat had to be mostly hard (/frozen) in order for the blade disc to cut it sufficiently. Working with cold meat is the right way to go about it to begin with, but even having it just chilled (sitting in a bowl of ice) was nowhere near sufficient. This could be user error, I'll admit, since this is my first meat grinder. But with the chilled meat, it just came out like paste.

Now, the sausage stuffer is my big beef. ABSOLUTE nightmare. The meat does not feed by gravity whatsoever, so you are constantly pushing down hard with the tamper, which then just squishes up back around (because the tamper doesn't fit the tube well) and then creates a major air vacuum/suction issue. Constantly. We had so many problems with air bubbles and it took us probably about 2-3 hours to run through about 4.5 lbs of meat. I feel like the only way this sausage stuffer would work was if you had a very dry mixture with a lot of air gaps to start - but even then, you have to press so hard with the tamper that you would lose the air pockets and still end up with the vacuum issue.

I am a diehard Kitchenaid fan and am appalled at how terrible the sausage stuffer attachment was. APPALLED. Never using it again.

The ONLY upside is that it's easy to wash and most parts are dishwasher safe. That's a pretty low bar, Kitchenaid. I know you can do much better.
MUCH BETTER TASTING BURGER

THE WIFE DOES THE BAKING AND MIXES W/ THE ATTACHMENTS THAT COME W/ A KITCHEN AID. I DO THE VEGGIE SLAWS AND SUCH. MY MAIN USE THOUGH IS GRINDING MEAT. A FRESH GROUND PIECE OF MEAT MAKES A MUCH, MUCH BETTER TASTING BURGER. YOU CHOOSE THE STUFF THAT GOES INTO IT LIKE MAYBE SOME GARLIC CLOVE OR ONION AS WELL AS THE QUALITY OF MEAT AND COMBOS-AKA VENISION AND BEEF. IT DOESN'T GET "PRE-COOKED" AS THE LARGE COMMERCIAL GRINDERS HAVE A TENDENCY TO HEAT UP.
Five Stars
