Best Dog Walking Vest EVER!
knitting ninja✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 28, 2023
I love this vest so much I bought 2 of them! The first I wore everyday for almost 2 years and now it's starting to look very grungy, so I'm sending it off to the cleaners for a few days. But since I couldn't be without my vest for even a day, I decided to purchase a second one. Now I can rotate them so I will always have a clean one handy.

Yes, I know these are supposed to be machine washable but I read a review that said their vest got all messed up when they washed it and I wasn't willing to take a chance. So, I'm letting the professionals handle it.

Okay, so maybe you're wondering what on earth is so special about this vest that I can't be without it for a single day. Well, this just so happens to be the best dog walking vest I have ever seen. There are so many pockets that I have everything I need right at my fingertips. It's very organized and roomy enough that I can store backups of the things you never want to run out of like doggy poop bags, moist toweletts for me, tushy wipes for my chow and lots and lots of training treats. My dogs and I have enjoyed a lot of miles in this vest and I would never go back to just stuffing some bags in my pocket and heading out the door.
Fits me well and functions as I expected

I am 5'10" 185 lbs 32 inch waist and the Large vest fits very nicely. It is a little on the loose side which is perfect for me. Materials seem pretty good quality, I expect it to last a while. A big plus is the fact it can be worn over a T shirt in hot weather since it is vented in the back as well as over a thicker under garment when colder. Pockets hold a lot of items so those may come in handy.

A friend of mine loaned me his .40 Jericho pistol to try and it fit in the inside pocket fine. Was really easy to reach in and remove it as well. The Jericho is quite robust so if you have a large frame pistol it will at least work in these pockets.
Not a Fat American.

Once upon a time, all clothes were made to a standard sizing system. Then we Americans started super sizing everything and grew from large to XL, 2XL, 3XL and so on. This caused Americans to feel bad about themselves and quite buying clothes because buying it showed them how fat they were getting. Manufacturers got smart and started lying to their customers by labeling clothing sizes smaller than they really are. For example, I was once considered and XL. I knew these ran large, so I ordered and L. Turned out I needed a M which I also ordered and which fit perfectly. For your reference, I am 6' 01", 194lbs, with a slender build (by modern American standards) despite my mild muffin top waist.

The vest itself seems very well made, with excellent stitching and even very few "Irish Pennants" to be burned off. I will not be using the "holster" portion of the vest because I prefer strong side carry and don't feel that the built in "holster" provide reasonable weapon retention with my active lifestyle.

There are three things about I don't particularly care about with the vest.
1. The hand warmer pockets are very shallow. Too small for putting hands in or carrying a pocket pistol. This is surprising as all the other pockets have ample space for most reasonable needs.
2. This is going to sound strange, but the velcro on the magazine pouches inside the vest is too strong. It takes too hands to effectively open these pouches, which is not reasonable in a combat situation. I would prefer a snap or a less impressive piece of velcro so that I could retrieve the magazine with one hand will retaining my firearm in the other.
3. Vest is a little heavier than I expected both in physical weight and fabric thickness. I live in a warmer climate and was hoping for something a little lighter weight and more breathable.

Despite all that, I still think very highly of the vest and look forward to making it a regular part of my attire. The vest is well made and while expensive, it is still less than the 5.11 with more than ample features for concealed carry.
Perfect Vest

This is a perfect vest for camping, hiking and concealed carry. Very well made. The vest is made big so order one size smaller then normal.
Good quality and good fit

First to the fit, which has been addressed quite a bit in reviews. The fit is definitely larger than most other vests. I normally wear between an XL and XXL shirt, depending on the brand, so I ordered both an XL and XXL vest to see which would fit. The XL vest was more than ample to wear comfortably, with a full sized semi-auto concealed well. I never even opened the XXL package.

As far as it's use as a concealment vest, I think it's very good but not quite excellent. There's no problem concealing a full sized semi-auto without any printing at all. The pockets for magazines are conveniently located and don't cause any problem with fit or look. Even with a heavy gun, the vest doesn't hang strangely to one side, which I was concerned about.

There are three less-than desirable items that keep me from giving it 5 stars:

1. The inside pockets for gun concealment are sewn in on two sides, with the opposite corner held closed by a single 1-inch square of Velcro. It makes me concerned that the pocket could open and let the gun loose, but that hasn't been an issue at this point.

2. I felt the gun needed to be in a holster within the inside pocket, just to keep the gun from flopping around in the pocket. A cheap suede or composite IWB holster, with the belt clip removed, is good for this and what I used. It lets the gun stay in a good vertical position.

3. The vest is long, which is great until you're sitting in a car. Then the gun hits my leg and hip and pushes up somewhat. This was easily solved by unzipping the vest while in the car. The center snap across the zipper came in handy for keeping the vest together while unzipped.

Overall, I think this is a really good product that gets the job done well. I recommend spending an extra $15 on a cheap holster for the inside pocket.
