Ordered in the middle of summer, so have only had a chance to do some cursory testing. It was easy to install and seems to work well. I like the remote, lots of info presented in a concise manner. Will post an update later this winter when it gets a real workout.

Purchased a new home and there was a propane fireplace installed in the family room. There was no temperature control on it, just an on/off switch and a flame height control. After about 45 mins of the fireplace running on low the room would be hot and the rest of the house, which is heated by an oil furnace, was also warm. Because of this the furnace would not turn on because the thermostat for it never dropped low enough. This caused the bedrooms to get very cold overnight. However I did not want to turn the fireplace off as then the family room would get cold. This little device was the perfect solution. The receiver was placed in the control area under the fireplace and easily tied into the on/off connectors for the fireplace. I placed the wireless remote across the room and mounted on the wall with Velcro strips so we can easily remove. Now I set the temperature of the family room to be about 2 degrees cooler then what the rest of the house is set at. This ensures the furnace kicks on when needed, while keeping the family room at a comfortable temperature. Also helped cut down on propane usage as the fireplace only runs when needed. Of course you can also choose to just turn on the fireplace with this remote and have it ignore the temperature as well as completely turn off the fireplace, all from the convenience of the remote. If your fireplace switch is located in a box on the wall, (mine is not, but is in the fireplace control area under the fireplace) you can replace the on/off switch with this unit as it comes with the faceplate to do so.

I purchased this product to replace a broken Firegenie gas remote and receiver that had a broken battery tray. I did have a "little" wiring challenge with the low volt connectors that were slightly different size than the previous ones (they look like older 12v automotive connectors). otherwise setup and mating the remote with the receiver was a breeze. My Gas stove brand is a Regency model U-38 and the Mfgr was not able to sell me a oem replacement directly. they only sell through retailers who are not in my area anymore.

I purchased this to replace a remote thermostat on my Winslow PI40 wood pellet stove. The original unit that came with the stove never worked consistently from the get go.
Installation was fast and easy.Just hook up two wires to the stove controller, drill and tap two holes for the face plate, slide the remote receiver into the face plate and install two screws to fasten the face plate to the stove trim.
Teaching the receiver to recognize the remote was straightforward and fast. The receiver beeps once when you press the learn button and three times when you press the mode button on the remote to complete the process. This is helpful to let you know that you've done things right.
The units have worked flawlessly, starting the stove when the lower temperature limit is reached and turning it off when the upper limit is hit.
