I swear by this product. Very effective on discolored skin due to scarring. I had shingles on my face brought about by stress because we were moving. It ravaged the lower right side of my face and I was pretty sure it was going to leave hideous scarring. I bought this and started applying it when I started scabbing and still hvent stopped using it til now. I had my shingles april and its august now. Check the before and after pics. It works.

I have used bio oil for years. Love it, when its not counterfeit of course. This time I ordered it thru Amazon. The box was ripped and it appeared to be used, as there was no seal on the bottle. The consistency is watery and the color is a salmon pink instead of a more translucent orange color like the authentic version. Buy instead from target's offical website or an authorized retailer. Shame on amazon for giving such a large platform to counterfeit goods!

Gonna start by saying I have very sensitive and blemish/discoloration prone skin. I have stretch marks on the inside of my thighs from gaining about 10lbs recovering from an eating disorder as a teen. I suffered from cystic acne from 20-22 and occasionally now (23). So when I learned I was pregnant, I knew my belly was going to be wrecked with stretch marks. As long as your baby is healthy it's worth it, but who doesn't want to avoid them? So I got online and researched and like lots of things when your pregnant, I forgot about it. Around 5 months when I finally started to show, I said screw it and bought a bottle of BioOil at the grocery. I kept telling myself "I'll get one of those expensive special belly lotions/oils if this starts to not work" but it just kept working! Here I am at 37 weeks, I've gone through about 24oz of BioOil and nothing else, and I am yet to have one stretch mark! Time will tell and I'll update this after my little boy gets here, but if anyone is looking for something easy to use that helps prevent stretch marks, try this first! The texture is great, it soaks into your skin instead of just sitting on top and it really works! (PS I also use it on my breasts, so far it has helped prevent sagging and marks there too, even through the crazy growth) I really hope I didn't jinx myself but I just had to share with anyone else out there looking for a low maintenance way to avoid stretch marks. Twice a day, takes 2 minutes, and it works! I'll be using this postpartum and into the future as I age.

This product is a fake, do not buy it.
The color, logo and consistency is different than the one I bought at the store

Upon the recommendation of a friend, I began using a different stretch mark product around 2 months before my daughter was born. This was long before I had stretch marks appear, but surprise! They popped up anyway. Totally expected this to happen- but this product claimed to prevent stretch marks so I was a bit disheartened. I continued using this product until my daughter was approximately 5-6 months old on the advice that I give it time, but saw no improvement whatsoever.

To the important part of my review: I began using Bio-Oil upon the recommendation of the all-knowing Google and have been for around 7 months (my daughter just turned 13 months one week ago). It is INCREDIBLE. I cannot over-hype this product. Let me detail why:

1. I have extraordinarily sensitive skin (I can't use Aloe or any lotion/wash with fragrance- my skin is that sensitive) and I am able to use Bio-Oil all over my stomach and legs with absolutely no negative reaction. I have not used it elsewhere so I am unsure what, if any, sensitivities could arise.

2. I am paler than the palest-pale person. The stretch marks on my stomach and legs were a deep-purple tone and highly visible. I assumed that no matter how wonderful the product, they would never truly "disappear" given the contrasting colors.

These two factors made me really concerned about the ability to combat stretch marks without some sort of professional intervention- such as dermatological work. I'm a full-time student in law school and my budget is very restrictive so I was motivated to explore more affordable options.

*THE RESULTS*

After 2 months of daily use, I began to notice significant improvement in both the visibility and the texture of my stretch marks. The deep-purple tone was much, much lighter. I would say that the results at this point were 10 times greater than any improvement I saw with the last product I tried.

After 4-5 months of daily use, the stretch marks on my stomach were nearly the same tone as my skin. The were significantly less "rough" than before as well. The results at this point exceeded my greatest expectations.

Today the stretch marks on my stomach are gone. GONE. I know that this product is not guaranteed to completely eliminate stretch marks, but it has with mine. The stretch marks on my legs are still visible, but they are much, much lighter. I faithfully use Bio-Oil on my stomach every morning after I take a shower- I imagine that twice-daily use would result in the reduction of stretch mark visibility even faster, but cannot say with certainty. I have not been as vigilant in the application of Bio-Oil to my legs and that is likely the reason why the results are less remarkable. I have no doubt that the more faithful application could result in the same improvement I've seen on my stomach and I will update this review accordingly.

I continue to use Bio-Oil daily because it makes my skin silky-smooth and I hope it will reduce the appearance of stretch marks in the future.

*OVERALL*

I would recommend this product to everyone. Unless you have a specific allergy to the ingredients in Bio-Oil, give it a chance. Use it daily. Give it a couple of months- I have yet to find a more affordable option that offers results "instantly." I am awed by the results I've experienced thus far.
