I think it would help prospective buyers to know about the pockets. The one you cannot see in the photo is a pocket that sits against your body and has a zipper there. Below are the dimensions, as I measured them and my inventory of what I fit into them. By "width," I mean the dimension along your body, in the direction of the belt and zippers. By "height," I mean in the direction up and down your body, foot-to-head, perpendicular to the zippers. By "depth," I mean the direction toward and away from your body (harder to measure this dimension).

- Outer pocket: too small for most smart phones, width 6 inches, height 3 inches, depth 1.5 inches. Currently holding a tin of breath mints, two disc-shaped pill caddies, eye drops, lip balm, two cough drops,

- Main pocket: width 7 inches, height 5.5 inches, depth 2.5 inches. Currently holding a wallet and medium-sized (3"x6") cell phone.

- Inner pocket: width 7 inches, height 3.5 inches, depth 1 inch. Currently holding a small notebook, pen, and small skin lotion.

Some users might find the bag too small, but I prefer it to my old one, which was much wider and in which items would swim around. The material is heavy nylon, coated with polyurethane, like a good backpack, so I expect it will wear well and expect it to be reasonably waterproof.

This is a handy little waist pack. I love using these when our family goes to zoos, museums, etc., instead of lugging around a shoulder purse that is always slipping off. This pack seems to be well made, and the very adjustable strap also has a loop to keep the extra length neat & tidy. The pockets are what I consider medium size, but roomy enough for what I need them for (cell phone, wallet, misc. "purse" things, plus that ever-handy map of whatever place you're visiting. Other reviewers have said this waist pack is a good size for kids (around 10 yrs old), and I agree, but it's also good as long as you don't need to carry many larger items. I also agree with others that the color in the picture is not true. Mine is more of a blueish purple (which I love) instead of the reddish purple shown in the picture. Overall, I'm very pleased!

Has held up well for me over the years. Can write on this fabric with paint pens if needed !

Seriously fanny packs need to make a comeback. This thing is really convenient. Whenever my husband and I go on a trip we always make sure to pack our fanny packs. This one in particular is nice because it isn't huge and doesn't get weighed down by the stuff you put in it. The biggest zippered compartment can easily fit two mini water bottles and a protein bar or two, and the third zippered compartment is flush with where your hip is so its a perfect stash compartment for money or cards. You literally cannot get to it without it being very obvious, and I'm glad they put that third compartment there because it is something you aren't even aware exists when you look at someone wearing the pack. The front compartment is good for small flat things, but probably not big enough to fit some newer bigger phones.

Overall, it is a good buy if you want to pack a quick snack and essentials like phone, keys and wallet. This thing isn't giant, but you can fit a good amount of stuff in it. A good alternative to having to carry something on your back or shoulders all day, and it keeps your hands free so you can hike or photograph, etc.

They work great for what we needed them for.
