I love these hand warmers
Amazon CustomerApril 10, 2018
I love these hand warmers! I know it's not their intended purpose, but I've used them for on-the-go heating pads for warmth needs associated with breastfeeding my baby. I keep a couple in my diaper bag. When I use one, I tuck it inside of a little cloth bag (that some pillowcases I bought came in) to make sure it's not too hot against sensitive skin. Even keeping them in my diaper bag that gets loaded full and tossed around quite a bit, I've never had one accidentally go off.

I was also very impressed by the company's prompt customer service. One of my warmers was damaged in shipping, and they took care of the problem promptly and generously.
Very disappointed

These seemed very cool at first. Bend the piece of metal to start the chemical reaction and the crystals form and heat is produced. All is well.

Well.... Not really. The advertised 30 to 40 minutes of heat is optimistic in the extreme and, in my case, just not true. Got about 15 minutes of good heat from them in pockets. I suppose you could argue that they are still warm for another 15 minutes, but they are rapidly cooling and really don't work in that time.

To top it off they are not returnable (seems to be an Amazon policy. Interesting that they can ship them to me but not take them back.) I filed an a to Z claim.

Edit to add that the seller was quick to grant a refund. So I appreciate that service.
Useful but volatile
EquestrianFebruary 20, 2017
I have a love/hate relationship with this product. On the one hand, they're very effective. On the other, the gel is heavy, and they require boiling in water on the stovetop for several minutes to re-set them. Most frustrating, they're often quite volatile.

I use them for my sport nearly every day. I put them in my gear bag, and put the gear bag in the car in the morning. Unfortunately, often I will find that one or more of the packs will have "activated" in the bag. By the time I leave work and head to the barn, one or more will be spent by the time I need them in the cold evening. That's frustrating.

I've had a number of them "turn" on me, so that they no longer reset, even with boiling for a long time. Pull them out of the hot water and as soon as they start to cool, the catalytic reaction happens spontaneously again.

Sometimes, even though they seem fine, just setting them down on a table will activate them and you'll need to boil them again.

I'd recommend this product if you can handle them with kid gloves, and don't need to move them anywhere until you need to use them. But if you plan to carry them to a destination in a pocket, a bag or a kit of any kind, you may find them unreliable.
Frustrating, but kinda does the job. I guess?

Gets hot, but not for long. Difficult to get to actually reset for reuse. On several occasions I've boiled my hand warmers as per the instruction videos on HotSnapZ website and laid them flat on a paper towel to dry only to return hours later to find them hardened again. This would make sense if they weren't boiled for long enough based on the instructions from the manufacturer and/or were not entirely transparent red liquid when removing them from the liquid.

My other issue is more of a design quandary I suppose HotSnapZ faced when creating these. The size of the warmers is too large to place inside of most gloves like I would generally do with HotHands disposable (1 time use) hand warmers, however, reducing the size of the HotSnapZ would also likely reduce the length of time they stay warm - significantly.
Really disappointed, I have had similar products before but all ...

The coin in the warmer does not snap to generate the chemical reaction and I literally need a wrench to get the reaction started. Really disappointed, I have had similar products before but all of the ones I received a defective and since I am based overseas, I am going to have to wait a while to get a set of warmers that work like they are supposed to.
