I wouldn't buy this product again. The description and look don't match. It specifically says on the box as well as on Amazon that this is a black matte finish. It's not, it's actually a dark brown with an ugly brown cord. Even the box says the glass dome is clear, it's not. It's a marbled brown and white. That is more clear via the picture but since the description says black matte finish, I purchased as a gift for a friend anyway. I'm sorely disappointed, but since this isn't for me I won't bother returning it. When using the switch to turn it on: the first click produces a flash, the second turns on the light and the third turns it off. That doesn't seem correct either but I'm leaving it alone since it isn't for me.
Garbage. Base broken out of the box. Lamp leans to the side.

I basically wasted my money but since I don't want to spend anymore money buying another lamp anytime soon, I'm MAKING this one work for the time being. I enjoy the soft lighting in my office as my eyes are sensitive to light. The design is nice. The main problem is the base. I couldn't get the pieces to screw together. Every other part of the lamp was a breeze to put together until I got to the end and all my dreams were crushed. Mind you, every lamp I own is a torch so I know how to put these together. And even someone who's never done it before could do it easily. But yeah, this one's garbage. After spending an hour (JUST ON THE BASE) I was finally able to force the leg and base together but it basically just leans and I have to keeping turning it every once in a while to get it to balance upright so it doesn't fall over. BTW, and I think another review mentioned this, the light is darker than expected but I got used to it and like I said, it works out better for my eyes. But it's a really dark amber I guess. So don't expect this to light up a room. Perfect for a small office corner though. Best just not to purchase it at all so don't worry about the lighting.

I didn't expect much from this lamp and, unfortunately, my expectations weren't exceeded. Unboxing the product was a huge pain. The manufacturer chose to use extremely fragile Styrofoam which seemed to explode into millions of tiny foam pellets at the slightest touch and encased the entire product with it making getting it out of the box without tearing the box apart next to impossible. After getting the components out the lamp went together quickly.There was a weird waxy coating on the base which took several washings to get off my hands. There is an obvious cheapness to the parts such as thin metal rod for the shaft and a plastic/rubber base/stand surrounded by a thin metal cover at the bottom. The paint job is meh with sharply contrasting coppery metallic paint that's supposed to act as "accent". On carpet my lamp leans to one side which I tried to fix but I couldn't. Other than that it lights up a room pretty well with the right bulb. Oddly, it had three different switch positions which I assume are for dimmable bulbs but I don't seem to have the right kind.
Very poor craftsmanship.
