The taste is great!

I mix with it with vanilla soy milk or plain soy milk with my collagen powder and it tastes great. Smooth creamy choco milk not in slightest bit gritty. As someone that alternates between pea and whey protein I appreciate the smooth texture of quality whey. 5/5 would recommend
6.2 Lbs in a little over a month

Love MusclePharm Combat Protein Powder, Chocolate Milk - 6.2 lb - Gluten Free - 77 Servings. I use a scoop and a half in the morning with 5 grams of creatine and 5 grams of collagen. A salad for lunch and a scoop and a half for with dinner with 5 more grams of collagen, sometimes with 18 oz of milk. Never felt better or stronger. Great product. 6.2 lbs last a month and two weeks.
“New & Improved Formula†ruined a good thing.

I used to have a subscription to this protein powder (both chocolate milk and cookies & cream) before I took a weightlifting break so I had a bunch of cases laying around. It was my favorite protein because of how well it blended in just a shaker bottle with no noticeable chunks or annoying excessive bubbles or foam. It would very dissolve well in a shaker bottle with minimal effort and turn into basically a good chocolate milk drink that happened to be a protein shake. I used to recommend it to everyone because of how well it dissolved and never felt like a chore to drink; it was the best-tasting and best consistency-wise protein ever.
This "New & Improved Formula" that I just purchased (now has a black Lid, old formula had the green lid) to finally restock on this great protein is a huge disappointment. Same old two scoops into the same shaker bottle now has a lot of chunks, and the powder is so fine that it forms a large amount of bubbles/foam that these chunks ride along on. Drinking this new protein out of the shaker bottle now is more like drinking an extra foamy beer that has powdery chunks in the foam on top of it. The taste of the more-liquidy/non-foamy part is still good so it seems they didn't change the flavor too much, but the chunks and foam that happen with the new formula ruin the experience.
That said, it is still good from a protein standpoint and does the job in terms of short release and longer release protein content. Just a huge disappointment that new changes of the formula turned my favorite protein (that I would recommend to everyone) into the same old annoying protein that doesn't dissolve well in a shaker bottle and reminds me I'm drinking a powdered protein shake as a chore.
Please change it back! You had a great thing going there :(
Edit: Since my initial review of the "improved formula" I have found the optimal way to mix it for no clumpiness, while the frothiness isn't bad after settling for like 15-30 seconds. You used to be able to just throw two scoops of the old formula into a shaker bottle in the standard way: 1) put some water at the bottom 2) throw in two scoops of powder 3) fill the rest of the water w/ enough room for shake-age 4) shake away.
This way would consistently leave me with clumps with the new formula while the old formula never had this problem.
The new formula requires a simple trick to mix up better, which is just an extra shaking step before completely filling it and then shaking again. You don't even have to put water at the bottom first in my experience, but that might be specific to my bottle so I'll include that here.
NEW FORMULA MIXING METHOD FOR NO CLUMPS:
1) Pour small amount of water into shaker bottle, just enough to cover the bottom or a little more
2) Throw in two scoops of combat powder
3) Pour enough water in so the water/protein mixture only fills the shaker bottle HALFWAY.
4) Shake vigorously for a little more than a dozen seconds
5) Open the shaker bottle up & add the rest of the water w/ enough room at the top for further shake-age
6) Shake vigorously for up to a dozen seconds
7) New formula combat powder is now non-clumpy and ready to go!
So all it takes is an intermediate step of shaking before adding all of the water.
While the new formula was really a buzzkill at first, I will bring my review from 2 stars on the new formula to 4 stars, since even though the extra step of shaking is a slight hassle for no clumps (where the old formula had no hassle), I really do love the taste of this chocolate milk combat powder and it is a great protein in terms of recovery. At the time of my first review I couldn't get it to not be clumpy, so plenty of experimenting with the huge 4 pound bottle got me to this non-clumpy method which I'm happy with now.
Even just with water, this protein is not a chore to drink and actually tastes great imo. Often, I throw the shaker bottle into the freezer for 1-2 hours while I have my morning coffee at work, and after shaking it up again, the small amount of ice crystals makes it feel like you're halfway drinking a milkshake! I'm betting you could actually make a great healthy milkshake with this stuff if you wanted, will probably try later.
TL;DR: For no clumps on new formula you need extra mixing step: only add half of normal water amount first, shake like crazy, then add rest of water, shake again. Great protein that tastes great, just annoying the new "improved mixability" formula actually needs an extra step of shaking to not be clumpy.
