Taste is bitter, rusty, plastic. In 6 months, they increased price, decreased volume and changed taste.

In the last 6 months, they've Increased the price, decreased the volume, changed the taste. The French Vanilla used to taste like a creamy vanilla cookie. It was awesome. I couldn't wait to have my morning shake. They changed the formula to get USDA organic approved.
Now, it tastes very bitter, somewhat plastic and rusty. In addition, consumer reports recently reported on one of the protein mixes contain high levels of metal.
I used to be subscriber to the Vega One. I'm done. Gone. No more. These guys just did a 'new coke' move and jumped the shark. !

I used to love this protein drink! About 2 years ago I suddenly had a bunch of medical conditions with which I developed a lot of food intolerances. This was one thing I could drink, and have been drinking it ever since. Recently they changed their formula (now to FDA approved organic and "great new taste") except that it tastes horrible now and it's not as healthy. It doesn't include the vitamins and minerals that it did before, it contains less servings per container and is more expensive. I just received my first order of it through subscribe and save, and I'm super disappointed. Why they can't ever leave a good thing alone is beyond me...

Just read the Clean Label Project's lab results on protein powders. Vega has the highest levels of heavy metals! Enjoying that huge amount of lead in your smoothie? I feel terribly betrayed by the Vega company. Selling a product that is actually harmful to my health. Have you at Vega ever bothered to test your product for heavy metals? Great Product / Addressing the holes in the seal

I have been using Vega One All-In-One for years now. I was drinking Carnation Instant Breakfast but one day realized how much sugar I was putting into my body. A trusted health food store employee suggested this as a alternative. It was a bit of a challenge at first, going from something with so much sugar to this, but now it tastes good and keeps me full for a while.
SIDE NOTE: I received a jug of this with 5 holes punched into the top of the seal and it completely freaked me out. I had Amazon send a replacement and it too had the holes. I reached out to Vega One and this was their response: "Thanks for reaching out! Yes, I can definitely see how the ventilation holes could be alarming as they slightly larger and more noticeable than before. We've always had ventilation holes in our seal, though it seems our manufacturer is likely using a new machine so they are in a more noticeable position and are slightly larger as I mentioned. The pin sized holes are completely characteristic of the vented liner on our tub and are meant for circulation."
