Worth the extra cost vs non self lighting top!!!
ShagReviews•March 25, 2018
I have the lower end version of this product, no igniter. got at home depot in package with a tank, and refilled tanks over n over til the old one broke. this slightly more expensive BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY! you dont need to fool around with a second lighter to ignite torch which didnt bother me much, the real key here is the flame. the lower end model shoots a straight beam. where this has a slight 3 prong flare out just a bit which makes the spread of heat much more even and easy to use. also it turns off way faster, never need to blow out flame, old one would be slow to stop gas and keep small flame running, this thing is the real deal!
Best for grills, fire pits, camping
Windblownscott•March 19, 2018
This torch is really best suited for lighting grills and fire pits and maybe fireplaces or wood stoves. You wouldn't want to necessarily use it for soldering or brazing because of the lack of regulator to to keep the air-fuel mix right. I have it 3 stars because it does a decent job lighting my fire pit and grill and might even bring it camping because it is compact.
Buyer beware

I attached the torch head to a brand new cylinder of propane and nothing happened; no flame. I tried a second tank with the same result. The return policy for Prime does not work with this product. So, I'm waiting for someone to contact me from the seller after leaving contact information with the seller. Not the best purchasing decision I've made based upon the product not working and the convoluted return policy.
Small flame, not a lot of heat.

This torch works good but doesnt offer much use as a tool. I bought it to have concentrated heat to heat up seized fasteners. Problem is it doesn't put off that much heat. I can almost say my butane mini torch puts out as much heat and is easier to handle. Its a small concentrated heat source but is difficult to soldier copper pipe.
Excellent for the price, matches perfect with Coleman 16oz camping propane disposable

Purchased this to use to light pellet smoker tube. Nice and compact and fits on top of shorter coleman propane camping 16oz perfectly. Like this shorter version. Have always used the large QuickFire series on top of taller skinny propane bottle (typical blue). The Quickfire on the taller slender propane cylinder was always top heavy. Always had to be extra careful not to knock it over since top heavy. Side by side, this smaller version is just as easy to light as the costly larger Quickfire. Open gas valve slightly and press red button to light. Then twist knob to desired amount of flame. Which by the way, puts out the perfect amount on low to light my pellet smoker tube. Approx 6" length is perfect for also lighting bbq starter cubes in smoker of Oklahoma Joe Highland side fire box. Just the right size and length when mounted on Coleman tank. Much easier for my larger hands to handle the wider Coleman propane disposable as well. I also have a Worthington 5lb refillable propane tank. 1/4 size of regular bbq propane tank. I had a 6ft hose with adapter made for it for lighting bbqs, smokers, etc. Could not use the larger QuickFire on it due to size of the Quickfire. Had to use simple type with no auto start switch. Had to light with old style welding spark type starter. Ordered 2nd of this item which will screw on end of hose and is perfect size to replace current one with this product. The 5lb propane tank is short and squat and will last 2 Summers for what I use it for. With this item on the end, no more separate striker!!!! Attached photos of small 5lb propane tank with 6" hose and product on end. Also size comparison of Quickfire on standard blue disposable + this product on shorty Coleman disposable (which are 2 for $7 at Walmart). For my useage of lighting bbq starter cubes, chimney charcoal starters or coals in offset smoker firebox, this item is perfect. I do not require changeable tips so this item will do the trick. Only use on occasion so hopefully striker will last several years. Purchased 2nd one as a backup.
