Pencils were all over the box, they're package had come open!!

I'm giving 4 stars because the box they came in was way to big, & the pencils were all over the box. These kind of pencils can't be thrown around like that. The package they were in came open & pencils were every where. The lead inside will break while using the pencil & when sharpening they'll keep breaking back till there is no lead left!! I was heart sick when I saw them. I did keep them, but I just know I'm going to regret it. I should have sent them right back! I just hope nothing happens, I'm sure it will tho!

Love the variety in these pencils! This is the largest scholar pack sold and includes all of the colors they sell to date. The color goes on smoothly and evenly and is easily blendable to get the look you are trying to create. These pencils work great in adult coloring books and on sketch pads both. I've also used my electric eraser and regular polymer eraser with these to create different textured looks as well. The colors easily layer from light to dark giving you an awesome layered look. A great set for the artist just starting out or coloring enthusiast needing variety.

THe pkg had been opened and shrink wrapped back together. Pencils were loose in pkg therefore causing some leads to break I am sure. When sharpening the lead still comes out!

I bought a couple of these as gifts, and I kept one myself. On smooth card stock, my Crayolas laid down smoother and richer color - these need more toothy paper. These pencils are about one step up from Crayolas, but not near Premiere level. I actually use them with Crayolas, and can't tell the difference in pigment or shading.
While I am disappointed in the performance, the ability to get 60 colors for $30 is pretty good prices. Take a look at the Premiere prices and know that if you are just getting into color pencil art, or want to encourage your children to develop art skills, then this the set to get. If you have pencil art skills, or are looking to upgrade from your current set - then look elsewhere. These have their uses, but not at a full time usage/artistic level. For one, my hand hurt after using these for an hour (granted, I'm a Copics user - yay markers!), and they need to add more blues and less pinks.

These are fantastic. I'm not familiar with high end brands so I can't provide more than my experience with store brands and crayola but these certainly blow all those out the water. The cover smoothly and more completely than anything I've ever used. The colors are rich and vibrant. It would be nice to get a nicer case but for 30 dollars on amazon, this is a steal.
