Look and function great, but installation instructions are bad
J E✓ Verified PurchaseNovember 22, 2023
These fenders are great... once you get them installed. If you've ever installed bike fenders before, or have any mechanical intuition, installing these should be fine. But I recommend completely ignoring the included directions, because they're worse than useless. As another review mentioned, they suggest cutting the metal attachments before you actually install and adjust the fenders. Don't do that. Wait until the end when you know exactly where to cut. I used a Dremel cutting disk at the end to do that, rather than the suggested hacksaw.

As for the fenders themselves, though, they're great. Compared to the Planet Bike fenders I have on another bike, these feel sturdier thanks to the greater number of attachment points. I was worried that the metal attachments would look silly (like antennae), but once properly trimmed and capped with the rubber, they don't stand out at all. The hardware on these fenders also feels better; it doesn't rely on Phillips head sheet metal screws to stay together, and the hardware appears to all be stainless steel (so I'm hoping that it doesn't rust like the Planet Bike fenders I have.) Plus, the matte black finish on these looks great.

If your only goal is fenders that will keep grime off of you, the Planet Bike fenders will do the job and are $10 cheaper. If you want a step up in terms of finished looks, go with these, but be prepared for the installation to require some innovative thinking.
Beautiful Fenders with Low/ Medium install difficulty rating

Really like the look and quality of these fenders the black finish matches my Specialized bike near perfect.

I was going to go with the long board fenders but felt the front was a bit long for the varied terrain I ride, these work just fine catching most of the water and keeping my feet from getting soaked for the most part.

I had read quite a few reviews on these and similar fenders regarding the difficulty of installation, once again I am glad I did not go by the negative reviews of the in this case "mechanically challenged"

There are a couple ways you can go about putting the fenders on of course but going by the instructions should get you there okay, however you may need to adjust depending on your bike.

I will say a Dremel or similar rotary tool with cut off wheel will really help out cutting the stays down when you get them in place and adjusted along with a file, just remember to protect the fenders with something tough when cutting.

Also keep in mind these fenders are really really tough with a lot of flexibility to get them into the mount clips so don't be afraid to bend them a bit.

And of course a bicycle mechanics stand will make things a lot easier on you but not necessary at all.

The fender set does come with thick spacers for those like me with disk brakes, so no issue at all if you have disk brakes.
I also have a mountain bike rack and had no extra difficulty.

So I highly recommend these but if you are not good with mechanical things keep in mind it is not like snapping things together since bikes are different model to model, but when you get it done should be quite satisfying.
Handsome, quality fenders

Good-looking fenders, sturdy, seem built to last with high-quality hardware. Bike fenders are always tricky to install. The directions that come with these aren't the best--if you aren't handy I recommend just taking them to your local bike shop and paying a pro to install them. Otherwise, don't be surprised if installation takes you a while and, depending on your bike, maybe even a trip to the hardware store to get fasteners that work with your particular setup.
Worth it

People weren't joking about the difficulty of installing these. I'm mechanically apt, so I shrugged those reviews/comments off to the side.

In reality, these were much more finicky (difficult?) to install than your basic planet bike fenders. The supports being separate [vs a curved u-shape that wrap over the fenders as one piece] were so much more tricky to get just right. This did allow for more adjustability to get the fenders just right though. Minimal tools are required with a moderate degree of mechanical knowledge.

Pointer: in the very basic instruction fold-out, near the beginning, it suggests to measure the needed support length, then "cut with a hack saw". There was no way I was willing to do this, so I didn't. You are able to leave the supports at full length during install - they simply just point out way past the fender when you're done. I did this and made sure everything settled just right - rode a few blocks at a time aggressively to make sure 1) nothing was rubbing, 2) to 'relax' all the connection points/supports and 3) to make sure I liked the clearence. Once I was happy with the install, I locked the support bolts down then used bolt cutters to cut off the ends protruding beyond the fenders. Since I left them full length from the get-go I was able to adjust them with full range. Once you get the fenders mounted to your bicycle, even if it is way off, it is very very easy to adjust them! You literally just loosen the support bolts and slide the fender [along supports] to desired position and lightly lock them down. Once you're positive about clearence and centering you can go ahead and lock them down and test ride again - then you can cut them right off with cutters (or if you don't have some strong cutters, mark them with intent to partially disassemble and cut with a hack saw...or your can use an occilating tool, Dremel, or mini u sawzall, sharp snips, etc).

I would definitely buy these again. They are high quality and make no noise. My main reason for purchasing these was because of the two supports on each fender (plus the frame mountings) vs the single support on most fenders on the market. The matte black fenders on my matte black bike was my second reason for purchasing these. If my bike were a standard non-matte finish, I would have settled for standard planet bike fender. Glad I didn't.

Cliffnotes: buy them. Deal with the install complexities because the aluminum cores in tandem with tons of supports makes a very quick and solid fender.
Functional to a T

Work well, easy to install. Only installation comment is the schematic for the front is a little misleading, sort of shows the fender attaching to the rear of the fork when it is the front. They function superbly, have travelled in wet conditions twice already and no spray wetness experienced. Also plenty of clearance for when the wheel does pick up mud on the dirt roads.
