Usefulness Depends on Type of Sleeper

I purchased this for my son. I would have rated this higher if there was an option to further lower the pillow height or thickness. What I'm trying to say is it is not adjustable enough so it doesn't work perfectly for my son as hoped. I do have to qualify that my son prefers not to sleep on his back so his face is on the pillow and then his face tends to slip off the pillow.
Worst Pillow Ever Made!

I bought this hoping it would make it easier to sleep on my side with a CPAP full face mask on. The cut-outs are supposed to give the mask an opening to fall into when you're on your side. Unfortunately, the pillow was hard as a rock - THE least comfortable pillow I've ever tried, regardless of the whole CPAP feature. But even if you don't mind sleeping on something that feels like rigid styrafoam, the slots in the sides are not cut far enough into the pillow to work effectively. You have to be way off to the edge to get any benefit from them, so you feel like you're going to slide off the end of the thing. So overall, this thing is a complete failure. Do not waste your money on it.

I bought this pillow almost one year ago. I have to say that it has made a great difference in my quality of sleep. I'm a side sleeper so having the 5" inch heigh works great for me. Now why I'm giving this product 5 stars is that like most pillows after a couple of months of use it started to lose its shape, so what I did is simply started to sleep on the other end of the pillow, after one year of use I both ends have lost their height and shape. I called Contour Products, asked for my amazon order number and told me they are sending me a new and no extra cost. Great Warranty!
It takes some getting used to, but after getting used to it I really do like it.

This pillow definitely takes some getting used to. It is much narrower than my king size pillow so I don't have the same movement flexibility, I can lay on either side or my back, that's it. I can't roll to the side either, I have to lift up and turn in place. Once I'm settled though it does a good job of supporting the head without putting pressure on the mask if I am side sleeping. If you're a back sleeper though or you only sleep on your side occasionally, you may be better off with a less expensive regular pillow. With all that being said I must follow up with, after getting used to it I really do like it.

I'm a first time CPAP user and was frustrated about not being able to sleep on my side this pillow has alleviated that frustration! If however you are looking for something soft and fluffy please don't take out your review on the pillow, from a design standpoint for this type of product to last and provide appropriate neck support it must be firm but to say it's like sleeping on bricks (as I've read in some post) is a bit of an exaggeration. I would call the pillow firm. The one negative, it doesn't come with a pillow case. Last, the "hose strap" yea this for me is pointless when I have my machine below the bed so when I would get up in the morning I would forget I was attached to the pillow, I don't use it, but I don't need it. Thank you contour!
