Handy for Cassettes, Cranks, Jockeys, and Hard to Reach Places

Really nice to use. Well thought out, and cheap enough that I don't regret having to pitch it after a good use. Admittedly, they do seem much better at loosening dirt and grime than they are at removing it since they tend to get saturated very quickly. Using this and then immediately hosing down the drivetrain leaves it looking incredibly clean. Paired with the ease of use, it's hard to argue with having a couple boxes of these on hand.
The best cleaning tools are the ones that are so easy to use that you use them more often. This is one of those tools.

I used this to deep clean the chain rings and get the gunk out of the tight spaces of the bike. Definitely soak the floss with degreaser prior to using it on bike. Easy to use.
Great Product!

These things are great. Did not know something like this existed. Makes cleaning a breeze.
It's basically a badly made shoe lace that cleans your cassette

I can just imagine a shoe lace manufacturer looking at a bad lot of shoe laces. "They're too short and loose, no-one will buy these. What are we going to do?" (for some reason they have an Italian accent in my head).
"I know, we'll sell them to cyclists to clean their cassettes"
"You're a genius, Giuseppe, that'sa what we'll do"
So that's what they did and this is the best way to clean a cassette without removing it. Seriously, I know they were carefully designed for their purpose.
You could probably clean them and reuse them but I'm not sure it's worth it. One of them can clean a cassette especially as I have a bucket of hot soapy water with me because I'm cleaning my bike. Get it wet and soapy and the grime comes right off. Rinse it every few sprockets.
One other nice thing is that, unlike a brush, they don't spray greasy water all over the place. You can use them indoors without fouling the floor and walls and other parts of the bike. I totally recommend them.

Works great. Cleans front chain ring and rear cogs on cassette. Also cleans gear wheels in rear derailleur.
Recommended in the book "Zinn and the Art of Road Bike Maintenance" which I love. Most repairs and maintenance I do myself, rarely need to take to a bike shop.
I do not understand the negative reviews, the gear floss works just great for me. No unraveling of material, stayed together and removed grease and road grime. Only need to use every few weeks or months. May need to use more for a mountain bike in mud, but I'm road only.
Will order again.
