... this for a week or 2 now and am pretty happy with it

I've had this for a week or 2 now and am pretty happy with it. It is extremely thin but doesn't stick to records when I take them off the platter like another reviewer mentioned. I've noticed a small improvement in the sound quality of my setup now that I've added this into the mix. Plus it looks pretty classy compared to plain Jane felt mats that come with TTs.

This mat does exactly what Music Hall said it would. I no longer use a clamp and my bass is smooth rich and never boomy. The goal is to "decouple" the record from the turntable which, according to Music Hall, keeps vibrations from passing thru the tone arm. Another benefit is that the mat doesn't pick up off the platter when removing the record which my other mat did all the time.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I think the price is high. A realistic price would be $30 or $35 but if money isn't an object and you want to get the best sound possible from your vinyl this is the mat for you.
Set your expectation realistically and you will be happy

The general comments I read was the criticism that this item was overpriced.
I can confidently say from a HiFi perspective that the price is fair. Yes its made or cork. But the manufacturing tolerances and assembly of it are really impressive. Its paper thin yet durable enough to be lifted to change the RPM on my MMF-5.3 on a regular basis.

I have owned turntables in to the $5k range and I can say that 'everything' maters. To spend $50 on a mat is nothing as many record will cost you that.

Results:
So did it improve sound? Yes. Better dynamics and more organic presentation
Did it help with static: Yes, by 40%
Have I thought about returning it? No
Would I suggest it to someone? Yes
Will it be my forever matt? Probably not. Matts to me are only to be used when your arent using a quality platter. This matt doesnt like to be clamped down. So again set your self up for success by being wise about how you are integrating it into your system.
Would you try this on a non-MusicHall turntable? Yes as long as the VTA height and calibrations are set up. But again, synergy is everything. This may work well with Rega glass platers as i have had good results with non wool mats. Sorbathane works well but attracts dust like nobody's business so for that reason im not a fan. I think the only other option out there that is better than this is not using a matt all together and clamping directly to the platter if your using Delrin or acrylic.

I have a sound demo on Y.Tube for anyone's curiosity.

I bought this mat with my Music Hall mmf 2.2 le record player to replace the awful felt mat it came with. I did a simple comparison of the mats (without any adjustment to VTA) by playing the same track on both mats. The sound produced by the same record on the cork mat is way, way better. The base is deeper and the sound altogether is less muffled, cleaner. Static pops and cackles appeared to be lessened as well. My 33's and 45's sit nicely on the mat and are well-supported. I would recommend this to anyone looking to enhancing their record listening experience.
beautiful cork.

That picture really doesn't do it justice. It's cork, and it LOOKS like cork. Unless I received a different one from everyone else, but I don't believe I did. I had expected it to be somewhat yellow like the photo and I was fine with that, but I'm even more pleased with what arrived.

Regardless of appearance, it's PERFECT. Every record, new or old, sounded tons better. It's very thin and somewhat fragile, so be careful when handling it (especially taking it out of the box, if you're not prepared to handle something this delicate you could easily rip it). I will say that as thin as it is, it does seem relatively sturdy, and I don't think it's going to crumble or fall apart any time soon.
