I'm so sad that Dip-It has been discontinued. I've been looking for a replacement product and when I got a Technivorm Moccamaster the manual recommended this brand. So I figured it's probably good right, because Technivorm are pretty picky people anyway, yeah?
I've used it once on the coffeemaker, and couldn't really tell if it descaled much, but to be fair I don't think the coffeemaker was very scaled up in the first place.
What I really used Dip-It for is to periodically boil out our thermal travel mugs/thermal cold cups/thermoses that get that brown buildup even though you wash them. This product does not work as well. Since it's a powder, I suppose I can try increasing the strength past the recommended ratio on the package next time, but I'm still wistful for old school Dip-It.

Not necessarily better than vinegar

Update: I've compared this to a vinegar a few times now. I actually think vinegar removes more than this. When I run vinegar through my machine, more scale chunks come out than with this stuff. Also, a big issue I've been noticing is that this stuff seems to rip some residue off the plastic parts on my coffee machine. When I run the machine with this - it come out black, which the only black in my machine are the black plastic parts. So I imagine that is what is causing the black water. This has never happened to me with vinegar. I will likely not keep using this once I finish the bottle and switch back to vinegar.
I have used vinegar to clean my coffee machine for years. I know some people don't like it, but I've never had any problem. After flushing with water, there is no vinegar smell left over and my machine is clean. I bought this out of curiosity to see how it compared. To test it, I first cleaned my machine with vinegar, and then I ran this through the machine to see if it would remove anything more than the vinegar. It didn't really. So then I used this later alone to see how much it removed, and it did clean it very well, but I found it to be similar to the vinegar for performance. I do typically run vinegar through my machine 2 to 3 times to get everything out, so the jury is still out on whether this is quicker or not. I did not find in my test that it was. So overall, I think it's a perfectly fine cleaner, and that it works quite well, I'm just not convinced it's anything better than vinegar.

Doesn't strip coffee the way Cafiza does, but it cleans it clean. No leftover vinegar taste.
Much better than vinegar

I did a deep dive and this works much better than other choices. Lots of lime or calcium came out when I used this. Also after rinsing there is no aftertaste that vinegar can leave behind. This is super strong and it will last a long time. I premix with warm water before putting it in my coffee maker or keurig.
Excellent coffee maker cleaning product
