Dismisses the most stubborn grasses/weeds
Jim T✓ Verified Purchase•February 17, 2024
The included measuring dispenser makes mixing very simple and accurate. Only use 1/4 oz. with a gallon of water. That much killed almost all the nut grass and some stubborn weeds in my lawn in one application. It does not harm the desirable lawn grasses. Do not use it in the garden as it will kill things like iris, lilies, onions and corn and a lot of other weeds/plants. A second application to get the nut grass I missed the first time finished the job. Lawn looks perfect now. Price might seem high, but 6 oz. is enough for several seasons.
Quicker than other options for controlling Kyllinga and Nutsedges

Works very well. Three days and yellow nutsedge goes yellow then dried brown. Within a week the kyllinga started to go brown. It eventually dried up and blew away. We will see how thoroughly it controls these tough weeds in the long run, but it works similarly (though quicker) to the older herbicide Manage and its replacement SedgeHammer.
Update: Amazon often shows a surfactant in "frequently bought together" but the label specifically says DO NOT use a surfactant with this product. Be aware.

Sedge destroyer

After paying the high price for lawn care, I decided to tackle it myself. One thing you must know is not one weed killer will work on all weeds. I use a variety of five different weed killers and pre-emergent to get the job done. Timing with soil temperature and rain is essential. Of all the weed killers I have tried to destroy global sedge, dismiss has done the best. I highly recommend it for this type of weed control.
Like an antibiotic for your lawn!

Live in NY and bought along with SedgeHammer. Haven't opened the SedgeHammer yet because Dismiss worked really well.
In previous summers my lawn has had some Yellow Nutsedge which I controlled by carefully weeding as much of it as possible.
This year the Yellow Nutsedge grew like crazy along with big patches Purple Nutsedge & Green Kyllinga.
Dismiss pretty much destroyed these vial weeds within days while not killing any grass.
Pros: Aside from working as advertised the product doesn't seem to have a shelf life. I keep a sprayer ready all season long whenever a patch of these weeds pop up.
Only 2 Cons.
The directions were way too technical for this average Joe. Spent a lot of time thinking about amount to mix with water fearing I might kill my bluegrass. I should not have worried. Just add .180 into the mixing device and add to gallon sprayer. I spot tested on both weeds and grass before diving in.
While doing a great job on the sedge and kyllinga, I was surprised that it didn't kill crab grass unless I used a stronger mixture.
