Decent bang for the buck as long as you aren't huge on sound quality.

Seems like a lot for the money and it is but the sound quality is overall poor. Also, the image doesn't show this but the record is actually hanging off the left side of the unit. This means that can't put the left side of the stereo against anything if you plan on playing records. This is a good product if you're new or just getting into vinyl but I would stay away if you are on the verge of getting serious. The "bass boost" is hardly noticeable, the turntable cartridge is as cheap as you can get, the CD player worked great, the FM radio was fine and I never used the cassette player. Volume control buttons on the stereo itself are painstakingly slow but the remote worked well and was actually faster. I bought this and had it for less than a year before I decided it was not enough for me and I upgraded. One nice thing is that you can pair other speakers including a sub woofer up to this but even then you just won't come close to the sound quality you'd get from a real receiver and turntable.
It's a nice stereo. The buttons are a bit too uniform

It's a nice stereo. The buttons are a bit too uniform, all exactly the same round chrome. I had to put nail polish on the power one so my mother would know how to turn it off. The remote is nice, but doesn't have a power button on it. It does look nice and so far works fairly well. It does put out plenty of good clear sound for her large 2 bedroom apartment.
Didn't work, had to return

I was so excited about this purchase!! I have been looking for a record player/CD player combo that didn't look tacky, and I was thrilled when I saw this. The look is great, and the price is good considering all the components it comes with. But the record player didn't work, the record didn't spin evenly, the speed was off, and the sound was muddled. Major bummer.
Bought for mom. Not a bose but fine for her

Bought for my mom who loves music bus isn't advanced in technology. Petite, but plays fine. The volume is push button but doesn't tell you what level you are on. We tried radio, cd and phono. All worked well with good sound. You can judge by the video with Joe Cocker cd. I would use it too because it's so small.
Please don't waste your money

I should have paid more heed to the negative reviews before I hit the purchase button. I know you get what you pay for and this is, indeed, an inexpensive stereo system, but seriously.....I was unable to get my local NPR station and only a few regular radio stations. All other stations had so much static that the radio was worthless. The CD player was OK, but the record player sound was absolutely horrible. It was very tinny and not listenable at all. I'm gonna spend more money so I can actually have a product that works. Bottom line...if you afford it, spend the extra money to get a real stereo system.
