They are what they say the are which is a medium weight plastic knife.. It does not cut like a regular knife and won't do the job of cutting fresh vegetables like a carrot or uncooked meat that requires a sharper knife. But if you are looking for an economical plastic knife for every day cutting like sandwiches, cooked chicken, etc, then this is great value. I am a busy mom who doesn't have time to do unnecessary dishwashing so my family uses these 95% of the time with no problems and the box lasts us a long time.
