A little more expensive than the ones without the small side opening (LOTS cheaper than a whole new Febco unit and easier to install). I hope the side port will make it easier to drain and prevent another frozen/broken ball valve in the future. I installed it with the drain BEFORE the valve, I have a master shut-off in ground feeding the whole system. I'm PROBABLY going to replace the plug with a test cock to make it REALLY easy to drain so there isn't water touching any of the valves above ground.
Sidenote: Febco says you are supposed to leave them at 1/4 turn (half open) once they are drained to prevent water from freezing between the valve ball and the wall (which is where mine split open).
Be careful which plug/drain you order... its not completely clear and I just bought a $10 test cock that's the wrong size :/
