Saved our favorite pasta recipe!
Francesca Voegelin•May 26, 2015
We have a favorite salmon pasta recipe that requires inexpensive caviar. We used to use golden whitefish caviar but that hasn't been available for years. We don't like using black caviar on this dish because it is unattractive, and previous attempts to use red lumpfish caviar were disappointing on a flavor level compared to the golden whitefish. We discovered this red lumpfish caviar with vodka completely by accident and it has made all the difference. The vodka makes the red lumpfish much tastier. Our favorite salmon pasta dish is back!
Total Crap Eggs, not even Carp Eggs
C. Bordelon•January 29, 2015
What a surprise. I've bought this before and thought the negative reviews were either bad lots or something wrong happened at the warehouse.
It turns out the recent negative reviews were accurate. The taste was completely unacceptable. So being a person who just hates to waste money, I crushed up a 2 oz. jar and added it to the cat food, thinking the fish eggs would add protein. The cat took one sniff and walked away, although he was clearly hungry. The other three 2 oz. jars went into a Ziplock freezer back before going into the trash bag which immediately went into the garbage can outside.
A total waste of $30!
When even a cat refuses the smell, it begs the question who would ever want to consume this. I'm very impressed how bad this lumpfish product has become. Avoid it completely.

but for the price on lightly buttered toast or with sour cream it is just fine. A good buy

Beluga it isn't, but for the price on lightly buttered toast or with sour cream it is just fine. A good buy.
