Just a weird fitting shoe. I am a female, but I sometimes buy mens because sometimes I like the look better, I like wearing thick socks, and they are out of the style in a size 10 in women's. Depending on the shoe/boot, I wear a 9.5 / 10 women's so I get a 8 in mens (which is size 10 women's). (Sounds convoluted right?). Anyway, with socks the size 8 mens fit better, normally. BUT these are weird, they fit just right in the width, (they usually are a bit loose), but my toe is right at the edge... not bad but not good...because when I walk the heel slips totally off...weird!!! So, off they go to someone who might be able to wear them and not notice how odd they fit!!! They just don't stay on my foot even though the length and width feel correct, they look awesome, they feel awesome...just can't walk in them! :)

This is a great low boot! My feet live at 8000ft way out west and have nothing but good things to say about the Dawson.

My feet always seem busy, so I'll just give you a bulleted summary of what they said.

*Pretty much our size, but order up if in doubt. We don't like crowds.
*No moisture detected in the boot (our house) in rain/snow/slush.
*Boot/house probably not dry in standing water or wet snow at or above leather to rubber stitching line.
*Roomy for the wider among us and pretty warm.

OK, feet wanted to get rolling, so that's it.

Seems like a very solid buy.

Comfortable and certainly easy to put on but the looseness around the ankle means cool air finds its way easily and its so low around the ankle that they arent suitable for trekking through even mildly deep snow , still , they ARE waterproof ,sort of slip resistant and comfortable enough. Ill get my moneys worth from them.

This shoe arrived on time and was pretty much as expected... I kind of surmised, from all of the comments, that I would need to order one or one & one half size larger than my normal shoe... I did that and it is a little too large- it is OK though, as if I had ordered one size smaller I am quite sure it would have bee too small- I just wear heavier socks and added an insole and they fit OK... Nice shoe for the price!

I did send these back; a size 10 and ordered instead a size 11. They came today and the larger size fit, but just barely, but they really are about 1 1/2 sizes too small compared to any shoe I buy that is the correct size. The shoe or semi boot is well built and I would recommend them to all and would have given the shoe a 5 star rating if they were listed at the correct size. By the way, Amazon sent me a return label and it did not cost me a thing to return these shoes, they are terrific and should be commended for their response.
