This thing has been everywhere in the northwest. I live in washington and have taken trips all over oregon, idaho and montana. This rack is sturdy. I have driven with it for up to 8 hours at a time with 4 bikes. It's a squeeze but they can fit. I love that I can take out the pin and fold it down to get into my trunk. I have a little Jeep liberty. I did have to get an EXTENDER. It does not clear the extra Jeep tire on the back. Just a heads up. I bought one for $32. Also if you have a girls bike, it will not fit on this rack. The crossbar needs to be straight.
Good basic bicycle carrier.

Needed to get two bikes from Oklahoma to Oregon. Our CRV bumper hitch was the smaller diameter. This bike rack fit my hitch, had mounts for two bikes, was actually easy to load and unload with the swivel down feature, and didn't cost more than the bikes were worth. Short version: I added some tie-downs to provide additional stability since it gets windy in Kansas and Wyoming. We drove from eastern Oklahoma to northwest Oregon with two bikes. Bikes are fine. Bike rack is fine. We look forward to using it for local transport of the bikes. Great value.
Good bike rack for the money!

This is not a high dollar bike rack, but it does a a good job. The tilt works well and is really convenient on a mini van. The straps are sturdy and work well. One recommendation, once installed, wrap a wash cloth or something around the bolts on the main shaft and used duck or black tape and tape them up. If you happen to use the automatic lift gate on a van, the bolts will scratch off the paint, if you don't tilt it down first of course! And btw, the touch up paint in the little tube at AutoZone works well.... :)
GOOD BIKE RACK JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TOWING ADAPTER. SWAYS LEFT TO RIGHT BUT STURDY.

This bike rack was within my spending range and does the job, before purchasing this item check out your towing hitch. My towing hitch was 2 inches and the link on the bike rack adapter is a (1 1/4) receiver. So I had to go out and purchase an adapter that was about $15 at my local U-haul. Also, you will need a 5/8 and 1/2 cotter pin. I purchased both sizes and spent about $35 on both I purchased special ones with key locks to secure my rack and adapter. In total if you do the job right to mount your rack if you don't have a 1 1/4 sized hitch the total for everything will be somewhere around $134. It does sway left to right a bit even with all the right adapters. Also, the way my Cannondale bike was shaped I had to add duct tape to the bottom of the velcro because it was rubbing metal to metal and scratched my bike slightly.
Heavy duty, really well built

I PAID FULL PRICE FOR THIS ITEM.
I opted for this one over the so of the two arm carriers that had random negative reviews about bending. There is very little chance this one will be bending. It's HEAVY duty, both meanings of the work. It does have a lot of weight to it, but I'm ok with that. I don't foresee this thing ever bending under the weight of some bikes.
